Smart response, I can see your maturity level in your post

It appears that a mark of immaturity, is when you start calling everyone a ****** regardless of the fact you don't know anyone on this board in person, because you are a ##### and hide behind a magical internet shield. Let me tell you why people buy a Lightning.
1. Fastest production truck in the world
2. Currently best handling truck in the world
3. It's still a truck and can work like a truck
-payload 800lbs, towing upto 5000lbs, can haul, and haul *** at the same time. There is no other vehicle out there that has a dual purpose. If you want to get your beautiful truck all muddy and scratched up, you go right ahead!

Who in the flying F&CK are you to tell someone how they can and can't spend their money? Let me tell you this, you see lots of trucks driving around on the streets that are so clean you could eat off of it, and don't haul anything around, so back off of Lightning owners. Drive one, and your entire attitude will change, other than that, shut the F&CK up and quit yapping.......

2002 True Blue SVT Lightning
-all stock and will stay stock

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Aug-02 AT 03:21 AM (EST)]ahh let em all run their traps...it just shows how they'd rather run their mouth...errrr... fingers and drive brand x stuff, than to go and enjoy the best built, best selling for truck for what, 20+ years?
they just make me laugh twice, once when i read their immature stuff in a Ford (get that, i said Ford) truck forum, and again when the local brand x fans want to race, i always tell em, go get a real truck, and come back when ya do...

i'm not biased to Ford, it's just that i hate non Fords...when an idiot is driving that vehicle..
ps, i guess my truck ain't stock after all!!! it has a throttle position sensor from some outfit in summit on it, and the sticker that came with it, when applied to the back window, added 150 horsepower, hahaha, nah seriously, save the TPS deal, it's all stock, even down to the cracked exhaust manifolds, but for some reason, it is doggone quick off the line, providing there is traction, when it rains, i may as well as ride a skateboard in soft sand as take off fast in it.

Man i love lightnings but i just cant justify getting one to my wife.
Instead I took a 1972 F-100 and put a 460 in it with a 4-speed.Its also lowered a lot.I raced a silverado with it and i squalled tires all the way through 1st gear(not the best way to race),spun 15ft. in 2nd,5ft in 3rd,and chirped em in 4th(POWER SHIFTING ALL THE WAY).
Man do i wish i had a camera!
THE SILVERADO NEVER STOPPED HE JUST DROVE ON PAST ME!

So, GM is coming out with a Z28 that will kick a vettes a**. Must be, because an 03 Cobra will now with the exception of a Z06. And the SS is reportedly gonna be in the 345 HP range. Does not sound like a Lightening killer. Did you design the Aztek? Avalanche? Cadillac CTS? New Silverados? If you had anything at all to do with these disgraces to the motoring world, hang your head and walk away.

Why is it that I don't have any fun at redlights when I am sitting next to a camaro in my reg 150? Cuz those that drive em don't know what that pedal on the floor is for. Isn't loud muffler an oxymoron?

Actually, as wierd as it may seem those Bonneville sedans do have some go! Especially the new ones. A friend has a 91 with the 3.8 and for being such a boat it very fast. As for it beating a lightning....I couldn't say, ive never even seen a lightning in person. But a First gen lightning wouldn't be so hard to believe as it only has 240hp and i would guess alot more weight.

As for the powerstroke, arn't they tied with the Dinomax as far as torque ##? And if you want low end torque you don't buy either anyway so I don't know what all the fuss is about. The cummins stomps on both for low end torque. There is a reason it is so popular.

Come on guys, lets not loose our dignity here over a few ch### owners who come and bash us cuz they don't have a Board that rates 1% of what this one is! IM sorry but there is no way under the sun that a stock 300 I6 can come even close to a new model 5.3 let alone ANY new model engine from ANY manufacturer. This engine has around 150HP behind a 5000lbs truck. This is not conducive to winning races!! Its just not possible unless the guy was toying with you. And yes, I have personally drove both, a friends 93 300 and my boss's 2000 5.3, even though I don't like the truck to say the least

Silverado???

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Oct-02 AT 09:52 PM (EST)]Alright I argue about this stuff with my girlfriends dad all the time. He is a big time chevy guy and always comes up with dumb comebacks. For example, he was telling me how much better his 5.3L is over my 83 300 I6. I then asked him if he had a 4 inch stroke, 7 main bearings, or a gear drive cam. He immediatly responded by saying well whose bed gets wet when it rains (he has a tonneau cover) and who has tinted windows. Thats the kinda stuff chevy guys like to say.

As far as the 300 goes. It does make more lowend than a 5.3. I beat the hell out of one in a 0-30 race. We have a local sandpit that we all go to and drive our trucks through. Most of us line up and race across the deep sand. My truck is 2wd with 35's and I've stomped both 350's and 5.3's while they were in 4 hi. Chevy makes all their power at like 5000rpm. Its useless when it comes time to work that engine. My bottom line is this, Ford knows how to build a better truck motor.

Oh I almost forgot, but I raced a 1998 F250 light duty ex cab 4x2 with the 5.4 on pavement an at 60 I was two truck lengths ahead.

>Well lets hope you don't race a Z28 in your mustange, cause
