this is for the guy that says the older 454 can beat the old lighting WRONG the lighting can go 0-60 in 7.2 the 454 ss run 7.2 the same but in the quater mile the 454 runs 14.5 and teh lighting can run a 14.4 and 2 miles faster keep in mind this is stock versus stock.So read up on your facts before you chevy guys go running your mouth

You read that the ford has best in class torque. What kind of nonsense is that. Nothing beats the duramax, not even close. And they can claim best in class by matching engines that are not comparable, like a standard chevy vs a optional ford engine. I was wondering also, why do you guys talk about previous model lightnigns. They suck. The new one's are cool, but the old ones are slow, ugly and a waste of time.

 

I will race you any day in my Lingenfelter Trans Am boy. You don't stand a chance. My LS1, the same engine as in the Chev counterpart, will destroy your sissy ford. The best thing you can do is try and buy a Saleen, and they are slow, ugly, and always detonate because they are poorly engineered after market cars. No matter what you do, your fords will never compare.

 

Good argument... NOT! Ford DOES have the BEST torque in-class. And that means better than the duramax. Even go to che*y's website. It says the duramax has more horsepower than ford, NOT torque. And torque is where it's at when your towing so your reply was a waste of space. Nice try though .

FORD, Dodge, Chevy - as long as its AMERICAN MADE. Does anybody else hate foreign cars?? You know - the ones with the big farting exhaust and the aluminum wings, and those other things they call trucks (200 HP with a supercharger - why bother).I love pulling up next to one and lettin em hear what a gas guzzlin, atmosphere inhaling, big AMERICAN V-8 sounds like.

 

I want every ford loving redneck to know something. I work in the designing department of gm. The cool side 2 will come out in early 2003 but dont go spreading romors. But it will go to dealers in a kit to put on the regular cab silverado. The silverado ss will also come in a kit. The camaro will come back in 2005 so all u cobra lovin hicks better get a good look at the front of the 2005 camaro because the only thing your going to see is the back of this beast. Also the 2003 gto that is coming out may get a special option the lemans option. And the impala is geting a option the Super Sport option with a LS1 V8 that will get about 450 hp and 500 lb.tq and will have awd. So if you want to know any more about general motor's.

Fix or Repair Daily?
Funny thing how our Chebby products that our family owned were the ones that were constantly being fixed and repaired daily. Nevermind that at 49k miles, our Chebby van blew up and caught on fire, and the only thing GM told us, was F off. I'll believe everything when I see it, because GM just doesn't have a good track record of actually putting concepts into reality. Also, my question, is who in the hell are you calling a hick? What is up with these Chebby a-holes who constantly come to our boards and talk trash? You won't see any of us talking trash and name calling on the Chebby boards......

Why is it that chevy guys always talk well this concept something or other will beet the new Cobras and Lightnings. Well gues what what, its only concept and it'l probably opnly ever be concept. Once i see one of those "concept vechicles" in a dealer with ACTUAL numbers to go along with it is when i will believe that your future junk yard reject vechicle might be able to beet our ford. And i don't just mean performance, i mean the best value for the money which the mustang and the lighning are some of if not the best of the best i will be very surprised if chev or dodge can produce anything with the performance, looks, and price (not to mention hauling capability) of the Lightning and still make a profit on it.

I can get my new 427 ci vette out of my colection or my custom silverado with the a superchaged 8.1 liter v8 and a tuned computer that can get 800 hp and 910 lb.tq or if you want to get dusted by a stock looking car. I can get my cavilier that has a 383 supercharged v8 that gets 508 hp and 621 lb.tq :-staun that can get to 210 mph :-staun . So if any one want to race me and the gm staff we are all at Tucson Raceway Park.

Sorry, but i'm going to have to call you on this one. Your cavalier would fall apart by 95mph assuming typical GM build quality. Also, what are you talking about dude? You are comparing apples to oranges right now. You can't compare a modded vehicle to a stock vehicle, and if you would like, post your challenge because many will be more than happy to accept your challenge. Face GM boy, stock for stock, Ford simply wins, and there is no comparison. You can compare modded vehicles all you want, because when it comes to mods, the man with the most money wins. You can even get a Metro to run 8's in the 1/4 mile, all it takes is just money.
