Thanks for the input Gobstopper.

It looks like you went on top of the turbo mount plate for the fuel lines.

After talking to some guys, I think I'm going to use the factory lines to a certain point and flare them out. Then run a piece of hose from the metal line to the 3-way.

Sounds simple enough huh?

I ran "just the oil pressure switch and she works great
I want fuel pressure before cranking.

I know how he wired it and what it does. =)

Gotcha! the other thing would be to (obvious reason) wire it so you turn the key on and your pump comes on

I dont want to defeat the purpose of a safety device.

Though. I'm still curious, if i turn the fuel pump on, iwth the truck off, will the fuel circulate all the way into the tank?
Be a good way to stir in some additive or just keep the fuel from seperating.

No because you're injectors will not be moving any fuel thru them. All it should do is pressurize the lines to the injectors so that when they get the signal to fire, the fuel will be there.

YES IT WILL!!! when i got my system all done, I wanted to remove any dirt/etc. from my new fuel system as well as prime the heads/regulator with the ENGINE OFF. I hot wired the pumps with a spare battery under the truck and disconnected the return to the tank via the quick connect by the drivers side frame rail. when i got fuel, i turned the pumps off and connected the return. I then turned the pumps back on, and i could hear the fuel returning to the tank.

Most Excelent!

and, yea, just cause the injectors are not moving, doesn't mean fuel can't move. i just wasn't sure how the fuel built pressure in the heads

William, i was thinkin about my post a few ago, and (dummy types before he thinks) if you have it wired when your key is on the pump is on- will not work. youll lose it when you hit the starter. if you absolutely "need" to have pressure prior to cranking, just use a toggle for your pump. and hopefully you remember to shut it off

Thats what i was saying gobstopper.....

Wire a bypass around the oil sensor.
That way you flip the switch to start or to circulate fuel.
When the truck is on, you can flip it back and let the oil sensor keep the pump running.
Pluss if the oil sensor fails, your pump can still run with a flip of the switch.

I want to keep the safety feature there, but have some control.
I'ma have like 300000 switches in my truck.

I have my system on an on/off switch as well as an inertia switch. Even if the switch is ON and I get into a wreck, the pump will shut off.

And YES, with the motor off and pump on, fuel will still circulate through the system and back to the tank, I do it all the time. When I start up I turn on my switch, let her prime up to pressure, then start. In the drivethru I turn my motor off and leave the pump on, pressure stays constant.

How do you have it wired? Seems like this would be the route to go.

With his system, he might be using a relay.

I was just going to hook the switch up to bypass the oil pressure switch.

I added another fuse to the factory fuse box. From that it goes into the inertia switch, from there to the switch in my cab. That switch goes straight to the pump. You get into the habit quickly of turning it on and off.

I dont have any relays, you have to manually turn the pump on. I would have used a relay but could not figure out how to wire it lol.

I'm not good when it comes to wiring...

So you run a separate wire from the fuse panel to the switch in the cab to the pump? Or is this the same power supply for the oil pressure?
