That looks good Matt. I have been thinking of doing this but I pull a travel trailer and worry about the back looking like it sags when hooked up. Hmmm?
Firestone airbags...pump em up when towing and let em down to like 5psi when not.
I put some on my front and love em. Gave me the level look in front and is helping my front springs a lot with the load! 9 year old springs are gettin kinda bad!
I think I'll probably let YOU get the spacers first, and I'll be getting my truck two-toned! I got the cash, the body man is picked out, his price is right, and it's going to happen within a month... along with paint matched Bushwacker Street Style fender flares, which just arrived late last week... still planning on using the dark gray/flint color. Gonna be real nice... pics to follow.
Fair enough. Once I get my 6.0 tranny cooler, I'll get the spacers. After that, I need to get that TE ScanGauge put in. I'm tired of looking at the 4th spot being empty. LOL.....
I may get my 6.0L IC installed before I do the paint, but following the paint...
1. the IC replacement if not already done, then
2. paint the '08 center console to match interior, then
3. fab some covers to go over the arm rest post since removing the arm rests for the console, then
4. front spring spacers + front Bilsteins + DS ball joints, then
5. install GPR LED, then
6. install new extra backup lights, then....
... all the while looking for a chance to purchase/install a 6.0L tranny cooler....
Yeah Pete, my list of things to do is about that long as well. My only problem is that green stuff is tight right now. I want to get everything done fast and i'm young so i like to buy things when i see them, but lately i've been alright with the truck. Just driving it for now unfortunately.
Thx for the helpful thread - green stuff arrives today, so parts get ordered tomorrow... and hopefully by the time the truck gets here this weekend, I'll have parts to bolt on and take pictures of.
I have a new twist on the same subject. My truck arrived this weekend (will have pics up shortly)... so time to make a few decisions. I'd eventually like to convert the front end for 4wd but need to get tires now... so going to just do wheels and tires as a package while I'm at it. Until then, this still seems like the best route - but was hoping to get a few opinions from different guys (especially if they have pics of their own trucks) on wheel and tire sizes. I know there are a few posts that suggest that 33's fit comfortably with the leveling kit, and 35's would work... even if they're snug. I'm torn between 18's or 20's.... and 33's or 35s. I realize that the question is entirely arbitrary - but again, I'd appreciate. I'm a fabricator / machinist - so making a few adjustments isn't an issue... but I'm thinking as much about style as anything else. (Just something about black wheels with machined accents on a bright red truck... makes me happy.)
