Post Daystar 2" Leveling Kit Alignment Issues
I own a 2014 F-150 FX4 Supercrew with less than 7k miles on the odometer. I just had a shop install a 2" Daystar leveling kit, and when I took it to a Ford dealer for an alignment, I was in for a surprise. The technician mentioned that the camber was off so much that it needed a "Camber Adjustment Kit" to be installed, so that the alignment can be properly completed. I walked into this dealership with intentions of paying a $89 cost for an alignment, and instead had to pay $350.

I ended up doing the same on my 12 after my 1.5" autospring level. The dealer wasn't willing to get it close only do the kit and align it or nothing.
I was told by a friend who is a tech at a Ford dealership to not let Ford align a truck with aftermarket suspension, they'll just try to sell more stuff.

That's ridiculous! I have been researching it, and found that it's a 50/50 on the outcome of this. I'm about to head back down there this morning due to the steering wheel not being center, and if they can't get it right after paying $350 for an alignment, I'm going to demand them to remove their camber adjustment kit, refund me my money, and I'll go somewhere else for another opinion.

Yeah, taxgod4u, I'm regretting the decision of taking it to a Ford dealer for sure. The service advisor I took it to, actually use to be a service advisor for me years ago for a Ford Dealership I use to manage. I'm not blaming him 100% for this, but majority of the blame is towards the service technician. I thought I'd be in good/honest hands with this service, but now I'm realizing that anyone will do whatever it takes to make a quick buck these days.

I installed the camber adjustment kits myself and took it to my local Sears Automotive Center for an alignment after my 2'' leveling kit installation. ~ $85 for and alignment and $60 for the kit. I've had great results from Sears. They also aligned my '05 Explorer after I rebuilt the front end. Both my Explorer and F150 drive great and the tires are wearing evenly.

I just had a 2" leveling kit installed and took it to a local shop that aligned it for me and all seems ok. They said the camber was way out and brought it into alignment fine. Typical dealership just trying to make an extra buck. I'm not sure if its me ( my ocd) or if the steering wheel is off by less than a 1/4" to the right, they re checked the alignment and said it was perfect. So must be my OCD .

90% of the time you don't need a camber kit, just the toe in adjusted after a leveling kit install. I've installed about a dozen of them and never needed a camber kit.

I didn't install my camber kit because of the level kit install. The alignment was off from the factory. More negative camber on the passenger side than it should have had. It was a good excuse to go ahead and install the eccentrics while I was there and having the alignment checked anyway. Now the front end looks like is it supposed to.

It might be fine for you but not for me. I wanted mine a little higher without going with a full lift kit. I'm pretty happy with it, and it doesn't look like the other 500,000 F150s on the road around here. Just boils down to personal preference I suppose
