HI All, My name is Ken and I live in Danbury, but have a restoration shop in Shelton. I am about 90% done with my F-150 / F-350 project.
She is a 1982 XL that I have had for about the last 15 years. She started out as a 351 2 wheel drive tow packaged truck, she then became a 460 powered truck. Back about 5 years ago, I pulled her off the road as I just got a 92 XLT 4x4. Though the 92 is a nice truck, it could not do what the 82 could do, thus the start of the semi restoration. As time went on and gaining more conections with area junk yards, she grew into what I have today.
She is now an 82 XLT on a 84 F-350 4x4 frame with a 460 auto.
She now has just about every option, a list too long to note. I do not even want to get into the wireing nightmares. I also hid a dump under the bed. I am still working out the bugs and I will be switching the C-6 to a 4 speed overdrive auto as she screems on the high way due to the 411 gears. You can only imagine what my gas mileage is like. This truck has come a long way from what she was.
If I can figure out how to post photos, I will do so.
Thanks
Ken
Sounds like that '82 is a labor of love.
Did you have to lift the cab to match the dump?
I can relate to your comment about fuel mileage.
It sure looks lovely, eek you should see my beater.

Thanks for all the kind words! I think this truck is a sickness, but then again all my cars turn into a sickness. As to the dump, I did not lift the cab. I built a sub-frame out of 1/4" c chanel and the cross supports were knotched to fit the sub frame so the bed is at its normal spot. The sub frame caires all the load and the bed is along for the ride.
