This is Jeff "Fun2Drv" from Gales Ferry, picked-up a 1999 F350 a couple of weeks back and am loving it. Thought I would sign up for moral support when needed.

I didn't realize they had a CT group until today. I've been a member for years with my F250 and now I have a 2014 F150 EcoBoost for tow pig duties for the YJ.
Welcome to the group. We've been a quiet bunch lately, but we have a BS thread every month. If you ever need hand with anything, most of us are willing to help when able. We try to do get togethers a couple times a year.

Thanks, I don't know how much I'll post. I'm already on a couple off road boards where I'm a BOD so those I have to be active on. So far so good with the F150. I put mud flaps all the way around, added window vents, replaced all the door speakers and added a powered sub and put a catch can system in it. According to the truck's computer I gained 1.4mpg with that for the same driving back and forth to work.
Hey everyone. My name is Brian and I live in the Austin, TX area. Didn't grow up working on cars/trucks.....far from it; Now in my mid 40s I am determined to learn! Just picked up my first truck to work on...1974 F350 SCS. Have already learned so much from reading the different threads!
Well I did the new member welcome thing on the Super Duty forum but just found this one here! So just a quick howdy to all my fellow tortured Connecticut residents. Name is Mike and I live in South Meriden. I have a huge garage/shop that I do all my working in. I have a 2000 F-150 Lariat w/156k on the clock that I am currently trying to sell because I bought a new/used 2012 F-250 Super Duty to replace Bessy the F-150. Bessy has been tremendously reliable but she is corroding before my eyes and it was time to get something better to tow my boat with. If anyone ever needs help I am always willing to lend a hand if need be. Glad to be here and hope to interact with and meet some of you guys at some point!
Towinrig....I am in the SAME boat(no pun intended!) My 01 f150 Crewcab drove me crazy this week. the front cv flange clip came off INSIDE the differential....so i had to basically take the whole front diff out of the truck to replace the one reatiner clip on the inside of the axle flange. But thats when i noticed my frame and how well of a job this New england weather has done to it. It runs terrific and rides like a dream but its got 163K on it, so it may be time........ Did you get your superduty used from a dealer? or private seller? everything ive seen through a dealer is crzy pricey

Hey 96f150 nice to hear from you. I found my new truck up north of Albany NY at a private dealership. I was very worried about buying a car from a non-big 3 type dealership but I did a lot of research online and this dealer had nothing but great reviews so I just rolled the dice. Was a great experience and the truck so far has been awesome. I did have to replace the serpentine belt as soon as we got home because it was squealing bad. That pissed me of because they should have done that before I bought it. But then while doing that job I pulled the air cleaner housing to get better access and the damn thing has a squirrels nest or something in it? WTF??? Plus they did change the air filter element??? I called the guy and he was mortified! He doesn’t do the work he has a shop that does all his work and he was pissed because he doesn’t spare anything when it comes to the cars he sells. If it needs it he does it before they leave the lot. So he told me to send him a bill. He sent me a check for $200 for the parts and my time! I was only able to find 3 Super Duty trucks in my range this one and one in Vermont and Maine. The Maine one was at a dealer that got horrible reviews and the Vermont one was at a Ford dealer and it was a Lariat with all the options I wanted but they wouldn’t negotiate on the $28,500 price tag which was just outside our budget. It would have cost well over $30k all said and done. So we chose the one in Albany and got it for $25,500 after everything $27,700. I trailer my boat all over the NE so I need a reliable truck and the Ole Bessy the 150 is just getting too old and rusty unfortunately because she has been the most dependable vehicle we have ever owned!
