I love my Sorel Conquests - comfy to tromp around in, and rated to -40F! Cost me about $100 but I wore them for hours when I went elkhunting with a buddy, and almost wish I'd worn thinner socks!

very windy here yesterday...today was tolerable at 66 degrees and sunny!
Ok...Cardiologist still wasnt happy with my bp...so he upped the dosage...
Atenolol 50 mg to 100 mg...keep monitoring it...if it still dont go down below 140/90 he can up it again...go back in august for follow up echocardiogram.
He said my Aortic valve is only opening about 1/3 what it should...
it's at 1.5 sq centimeters, and should be between 4 and 5sq centimeters.
if I start having dizzy spells and or swelling of the legs I may have to have the valve replaced.
on a side note, my mom 's ahlziemers is getting worse and my father is having a lot of problems with her...I hate to say it but he may have to get her into a nursing home soon.

I was on Atenolol for a month before I had my heart surgery. It was to keep my heart from goin 200+ a minute.
That stinks about your mom. I know the feelingt...We just put my grandma in a home because of dimensia. They havent come out and said it was ahlziemers yet but Im sure it will get to that point soon.

I had the racing heart deal and the shortness of breath was the first time and only the first time. Six times to the ER for IV meds and I had it. No way at my age I was gonna take a pill the rest of my life.

I know what you mean. In high school I was the "freak". I just didn't fit into any of the clicks.I got along better with the older people that I worked with after school.

Thanx! I am still getting used to going to the gym again, I am hoping going back to work will help because it is such a physical job. A few years ago I tried the atkins diet and lost 100 lbs and was going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week....kicking myself now for lettin some idiot get under my skin and quitting the gym...even if I had gained the weight, at least if I had stayed active I would be in better shape now...

Just got in, had a few meetings this afternoon and then my buddy pulled in behind me on the freeway and calls me saying "that must be you roaring up the freeway at 90 blowing smoke everywhere" LMAO!!!!
