Evenin' Joel!

Well just finshed my hair, it is nice and dark, hard to see the red inside but you will be able to see it when the sun hits it. Lisa, I will send you a pic of it tomorrow when I am outside!

Why am I awake at 2:30 am?

I guess I just have a lot on my mind. Frankly, the cardiologist scared the **** outta me today, and it just took a few hours to sink in. I am just trying to relax and not send myself into a panic.

The doc listed a bunch of symptoms I need to watch out for because of the aortic stenosis, and thinking back I have had all of the symptoms, but just thought they were related to my weight. These symptoms have almost disappeared because of the recent weight loss.

It's beginning to look like I will need heart surgery in the near future. I just hope I can go back to work until July when my benefits renew.I have used my 12 weeks of short term disability for this year, and any delay in returning to work would cost me my job.

I have long term disability benefits, and would receive close to $2000 a month, but would lose my health insurance. Granted, my health is more important than my job, it is just a scary prospect in these uncertain times.

ok, my rambling has calmed me down a bit, I am gonna try and go to sleep now. Nytol!

Getting ready to go back to college to get my Masters, Joel. Who says you cannot still go back to school? When I got my Bachelor's I went to school with several people who were in their 60's. If they could do it, you could too. You have some world class universities in Nebraska you know.

Here's another one. Saw this truck parted at Wendy's when I was going through the drive through. Looks like he went out and found 4 mini-donut spares for all four wheels!! LMAO!! I also like how the front plate is like screwed randomly to the bumper...

I need to start taking pictures of all of the retarded vehicles we see out in Cedar Rapids. Like the Pontiac with camoclad all along the bottom...

Thats pretty funny Joe. Sometimes you just gotta wonder what people are thinking.

I bet you probably could, Sheldon.

Yeah those older folks in school...were all like straight A students too. It seems that once you face the hardships of REAL life, college doesn't seem so hard anymore. And really, its true. I'm hoping going back to school will be a breeze, all that stuff just doesn't seem so hard anymore.

I never finished my four year degree. I'm a little less than half way through a BSEE, but now I'm not really interested in that anymore. Once things settle down a bit here, I plan on getting a management degree to back up my technical side. I'm not doing too bad, but I know not having a degree is hurting me. And that bothers me really. I have LOTS of demonstrated management skills as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force, but it seems like all these college bred boys & girls don't care. When I see what I call "young punks" getting manager/director positions JUST because they have a degree with no previous experience, it drives me crazy. I've seen my fair share of bad managers that were there simply because they have a degree. All they are are a bunch of "company boys" -- in my book, a true manager balances taking care of his people with company needs. A big piece that a lot of these guys are missing is that when the team you're managing is happy, the group and ultimately the company is successful and thrives.

No idea why I just got on that rant... I haven't even had my coffee yet!! LMAO!!!

Good sir, that was an excellent post. I cannot agree with your more. Ive ran into the same thing many times throughout my life. I dont have a degree in anything, yet (and i dont mean to brag, but I have to!) I always seem to outwork (in all aspects) MOST of the people I work with, yet it takes me alot longer to get ahead, or advance in certains areas, because I dont have any university or college behind me. Its frustrating to see slack asses get ahead when they dont deserve it.
