I think it's worse on the FL coast than Houston, Scott. I grew up on the Gulf Coast, and it's nothing for it to be 96 & 98% humidity. But you know what?? I'll take that 6 days a week and twice on Sunday over 115-120 & 7% humidity that I had to deal with all summer!!! That friggin' SUX!!
Now, whats wrong with 115* and 7% humidity???? Just messin with ya, I hate those temps and we get them for 3-4 months here.
If it's anything like Houston then you're in for it.
I looks like it's gonna take a few to keep cool this summer!

Only 1! Thank goodness! I never put all my eggs in one basket! I had to test the waters!

I hate humidity. Id take 115* dry heat over humid days ANY day of the week!
Like I said, it's all good, Scott. Maybe the "Super Mods" or "Admins" should CHECK with the forum Mods first, before doing this. It's getting really old, and it's getting folks pi$$ed off because every time it looks like we have things worked out, some "super-admin-mod-geek" comes along and effs it up again. How do we fix it, Scott? Make the first post some kind of disclaimer stating the thread is okay to be there and shouldn't be moved without checking with the forum mods first? I'm just trying to come up with some way to keep this from constantly being bounced back here in the GNA forum by "helpful" super-geeks.
Well, I'm pretty sure "super-admin-mod-geek" isn't going to help the situation any. With few exceptions, they started out on this site the same way you and I did and all of them have earned the positions. Plus nobody likes being insulted.
For a "fix".....well, either Jim and I will eventually get everybody talked in to allowing an O/T in the 7.3 tech forum, or they will stop us from allowing them. Best I can offer right now is roll with it. No sense in getting torqued over things we can't control.
I just do not have anything constructive to add tonight. So, I am going to watch the tube for a bit and then go to bed. Hope everyone has a nice evening. Maybe tomorrow will be a bright, sunshiny day.
Really?? Ever been in it? It's like hell on Earth, brother...
Even a dry heat sucks butt.........

Hope you have a better day tomorrow Jay, if you need anything we are here for ya
Yeah. No problem about the sig quote. Me and my friends are thinking of building a racquet ball court in my barn and also turning it into a party barn for the summer. Hey Brent I have a few questions on framing for the racquet ball court. If you had to frame a wall that was higher than 8' tall, let's say 16' tall how would you build it? (BTW the racquet ball court is 20' wide by 40' long by 20" high.)
Not to sound like a smart azz (if thats okay) but just use 16' 2x6 stock. That would be the cheapest way. If this is a nice permanent structure you might got to your local lumberyard and order these Residential Design & Build Product Guide: Timberstrand LSL Studs top of the line, and very strong. There also the option of steel studs, but we dont use those out here so I wouldnt be any help... Are you going to sheet the wall with plywood? something else? let me know what you want it to look like and I can provide al the answers you need pal! Thats root beer by the way....
I'll check back after a bit or you can always email me...

Dang, Scott. I was trying to be funny here, not insulting. But since you said it, I'll just say it too. It's INSULTING to us when they come in here and move stuff without saying anything. It's also a bit RUDE. Especially for the third time, after we think we have it worked out. We're completely open with you all, and we're all open to keeping things on the up & up. These guys simply need to lighten up. They're costing renewals, and driving good people away. In fact, I'm heading over to update my profile in a different "nation" because frankly, I'm tired of it. I'm not saying it's greener elsewhere, but maybe some of us need a break from the micro-management and "we know best, do what we say" attitudes. There was just a sudden, marked change in the last several weeks that really isn't necessary. Let them do what they will. I've said my peace.

Naw, not all the way up there. 80-90* in 80-90% humidity sucks though. You take a shower, relax, go outside for a minute and it makes you feel like taking another shower when you were just out there for like 2 minutes!

A couple of the factories that I have worked for had dry rooms. One of them was kept at 125* with as close to 0 humidity as possible. I hated working in that room.
On the other extreme I did some work for a fish house that had a blast freezer. They kept it at -70* when we worked in there they would warm it up to -40*
