My 97 pulled when 2wd. When I pulled the axel shaft to check that ujoint I couldn't get the stub shaft to move. I had the long shaft in a vice and couldn't move the short one by hand.
I have found that the LF joint is the first to go on a 50 axle.
Interesting; when my wife bought her PSD, it was the outer LF joint that was shot; not frozen, just waaaay wore out. Truck also pulled to the right, and that didn't change one bit with the u-joint replacement.
Edit: yeah, I can imagine a totally _frozen_ u-joint having an effect in 2WD. Even when the shaft isn't rotating, the joint still has to flex when you steer. I suppose if it freezes in a position other than "straight ahead", it would cause a pull.
