No idea please help

Hello im having a problem with a 1996 f250 turbo diesel. The last few days my truck has been acting wierd. Example yesterday when I was sitting at a red light my truck just stalled. It started right back up and ran fine for 62 miles. Then when coming back home on the freeway at 70 mph I was going along and about 2 or three times during the 65 mile trip back it kind of felt like it coughed the rpms went down 500 rpms and the speed went down from 70 to 67 and then it ran fine again the rest of the way home. This has happened about ten times all week and I have driven about 400-500 miles total. I have added new diesel and put some stp diesel treatment in about 200 miles ago. Put new fuel filter in 1500 miles ago. I have no idea where to start looking. And I dont want to get stuck out on the freeway. Any ideas would be great. Thanks
