I put in a diffrent MAP sensor and it makes a pile of diffrence (to the good)
By the way the new sensor I put in was from a 91 with a gas engine?
Think that matters?

I know 93's do.
I can get a picture if you want but its the little square box with a 3 wire flat plug bolted on the passengers side firewall.
A hose goes on it and that runs down to the engine.
I just started that truck up and it started right up , not plugged in or anything (Its fairly cold here).
Its smoking light blue whitish until it warmed up.
My neighbour has a 92 or 93 7.3 and its in the same place as mine is.
But hes also got a wrecked 91 with a 7.3 and I dont see one anywhere?
Im backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.........................
I put the new MAP sensor on and the truck runs OK , but just OK.
It stumbles and sputters if you floor it.
You can baby it up to as fast as you want to go but you cant punch it and do it fast.
I tryed reving it up sitting parked and its starts stumbling and sputtering around 2500 rpm's. Then it smokes a blueish white smoke.
You ought to take that truck somewhere and get it scanned for codes, at least that way you'll know whats the matter, just swapping parts from any old vehicle can end up causing even more problems.
jo is right on, on the injector orings but also could be idm as that was what mine was i had the orings changed and it run the same. then i found this site look around and read a lot and we have a few ps at work so i asked and brang a idm home from works truck to try and my two year old problem was solved. just to badi could not keep it

I dont know if you read at the 99-03 Forum but I have another truck over there that doesnt run either.
I cant afford to just buy new parts and keep throwing at both of them.
I have to figure out whats wrong with them first.
Ive got 2 tow bills and $150 mechanics bill on the other one already and it wont start.
But if you have the patience keep throwing ideas at me , I appreciate the help.
