$320 Ccv?

Hey guys,

I was just surfing around looking at parts this morning when I came across this.
Diesel Power Products | Ford Powerstroke | 99-03 7.3L | Engine Components | BD 1032170 | BD 7.3L Powerstroke Crank Case Vent Filter Kit

A little steep for a simple mod, I believe they are turning a pretty good profit margin off of these little fellers.

It was designed as a complete kit so people that don't want to mess with tracking down parts didn't have to. This has a catch can and everything..

Its no more expensive than anyone else selling BD's kit.

Still for the price of making your own compared to that is pretty steep.

Just this one so far, and the video quality is crappy..

this was a 13.6 run against a VW GTI and I was having a few issues with my truck that you should be able to pickup on in the video.. At least I had a good 4WD burnout leaving the line

Like everything we design, we try to make it with the highest quality possible and the most function able. We would not put out name on a coffee can with a rubber hose and call it a kit LOL. Yes there are ways you can do this kind of set up from home but it will not look as nice or function as well as the BD CCV kit.

A good example of a lot of the do-it-yourself kits we find plug and cause serious engine damage, the BD CCV kit will bypass the filter if it plugs.

I just used itp diesel's ccv kit under $60.00. Takes it right out of the intake system all together.

$60??? you could buy these materials for $10?

I am not trying to start an argument here... I will agree ours cost more but at least with our kits you get what you pay for!

Nice kits. But way too expensive for my return on investment. The problem with a lot of the kits is that someone over engineers them to the point of costing way too much for the intended purpose.

I suggest make a cheaper version for us that aren't overflowing with extra cash.

I just vent to the atmosphere, and saved my self $330+. Now that's a nice bit of savings!

That is great but at BD one of our goals are to reduce emissions and the industries carbon footprint, we care about the environment.

I am working on it...at BD we appreciate ALL the feedback we get, especially on the forums and this thread has not gone unnoticed by our upper management, I have insured that!

Taking into consideration what is included in our kit, what do you all feel is a fair price for the BD CCV kit?

Please, lets get some feedback from everyone on this.... ???
