That is not linked to what he did though. IMO, he has apologized for it and I, for one, am willing to take him at his word and give him the benefit of the doubt. Now, that said, if he does it again, hang him high. You can only apologize ONE time and get the benefit of the doubt in my mind. 2nd time and I will not accept any apology.

That said, what accusation and what forum? Lets go take a look at it. There are 2 sides to a story, lets hear the other side and see what he said about it before we pass judgment.
Thanks Aklim, its nice to have a little defense when being stoned this hard for a bad judgment call, I assure you a second apology will not be needed.

In Madison, WI, I found that A-1 Furniture sold a certain mattress cheaper than Steinhafels (I think). Specs were exactly identical. Talked to A-1 and they said it WAS the same materess just differently labeled. Checked with the manufacturer and it WAS right. Depending on who gets it, it gets a certain label. AKA Private Labeling.

As I understand it, BD went to the PDR manufacturer, had their own modifications made and called it something else. Problem was that Stroketech didn't sign any agreements with the manufacturer so he is out in the cold. From what I can see, what BD did was totally legal. They bought the turbo from PDR and sold it under their own label. This is done in business all the time. On top of that, they did change the wastegate. So, maybe I am not seeing where the issue is.

Thank you again Aklim, very well put, not only have you proven that you understand business and have your facts straight but have also proven that you will not shoot from the hip!

The respect I have earned for you today is huge!

Just to clarify, this turbo is not ADP's design, they have purchased it from the same manufacture we do, with-out making the changes to it that we have.

Dennis at ITP,
I didn't mean to cause a stir. I just wanted to let everyone know that there was a cheaper kit out there that I have been using without problems. I had no idea it would turn to this. I have a quite a few products from you and just wanted to share. Thanks for the great products and customer service.

Dave at BD,
You did the right thing by apologizing. Most people who make mistakes beat around the bush to find an excuse. You stood up and accepted what you did and made a good choice.

Thanks... I can accept when I have done wrong... well my wife may disagree with that statement but on here it has to be that way!

So who designed, tested, and did all the footwork on the Super GTP? It was NOT BD. To say BD designed this turbo is far from the truth.

Designed as a direct, bolt-in replacement for the stock turbo, this unit gives more power, super-cool
Exhaust Gas Temperature’s, eliminates surging and comes with BD’s own heavy duty adjustable waste gate. The perfect match for stock or modified engines.

It simply said it was designed as a bolt in replacement. Granted he bought the thing from the manufacturer but he did add a different wastegate. From what I see, he added his own flavor into the thing. Now if he bought a stock turbo and said he designed a super turbo and did nothing to it, you might have a point.

This sort of thing is done commonly in business. In fact, many times you will find 100% similar products with 0% difference but for the label they stick on it and they will also say it was designed to cure the common cold, impotence and make you hung like a horse. All done under what we call Private Label. The materesses I mentioned were the EXACT same product other than Slumberland has one label and A-1 has another. Even the factory said it was the exact same thing. Nothing illegal done there.

Who is stating that BD designed it?

Do you know who designed it?

Are you sure the Super GTP is the original name: or is that what you recognize this turbo as because that is what PDR calls it?

Did PDR design it?
Did their/our suppler design it?
Did Garrett design?

I know... do you?

I am in business and understand very well how things work. There are some that take the easy way. So your higher priced parts are fair game. Some stand on their own reputation.

I don't think it would be hard to find out all the information about the turbo. I was trying to give you a chance to set the record straight. I don't know you in any way to judge you. Would it be so hard to give the basic differences between your turbo and theirs? Maybe even state why yours is better. You seem to know a lot about both of them.

Which one; the Super GTP or the BD Turbo Thruster? LMAO kidding!

Some say Garrett, some say the supplier who we get the unmodified kits from who also supplies PDR with what they call the Super GTP. From what I hear PDR does deserve the credit for the testing but again this is not fact!

This is by no means the official answer and not based on fact, merely my opinion and some hear-say.

Gawd now you guys have me sounding like a politician.

Where did everyone go????
