Howdy all, I have a 6.0 cooler that I purchased (cooler only no hoses) used from a friend. My question is: I have searched and everyone keeps talking about a kit. Do I need a kit or will everything just hook up nice and neat?
You will need new boots. The stock ones are too short, and the inlet on the 6.0L intercooler is smaller than the one on the stock unit. The outlets are the same size. One boot will need to be a 3"x3"x8", and the other a 3"x3.25"x8". You'll also need one new 3" clamp.
Ten Foe, I appreciate your input, I must run and check this thread later the wife and kid just got home. Been workin so much(o/t to pay for the diesel prices......lol) I have not seen them in about a 12 days.
If it's auto, do you still have the stock trans cooler? If you do, the bottom of the new intercooler will hit the lines at the top of the trans cooler. You'll either have to relocate the trans cooler to fit the new intercooler, or also install a trans cooler from a 6.0L truck to make everything fit.
