Question on 6.0 tranny cooler ??
#2
I am not sure if there is a kit or not, I just bought everything I needed. I also installed my new OTW radiator at the same time so it was more involved. Here are just a few pictures I have handy for the drivers side connections. The 6.0 cooler has one line come out on the drivers side and one on the passenger side vs the stock unit has both coming out of the passenger side. I can take some pictures of the passenger side tomorrow if you need them.
New line since I didn't have one in the e99 setup.
Cut down and ready to install
Everything in place on the drivers side.

So the path is one line from the transmission connects the the passenger side of the radiator. The drivers side of the radiator connects to the drivers side of the 6.0 cooler. Then the passenger side of the 6.0 cooler connects to the other transmission line. I forget off hand which way the flow is going but that is how the connections are made.
If you already have a trans cooler in your radiator, then you will have the metal line in the top picture. You can cut it off like I did and make the connection like mine or just run a longer hose from the drivers side of the 6.0 cooler over to the passenger side of where the metal line is now. You would just be extending the path so that is why I like my straight short route better. Notice I flared the line a little to help keep the hose from sliding off and give the hose clamp something to bit against if it did try to come off.
I tow a 17K trailer and this was the best thing I did to the truck interns of towing.

That is the way if you do not cut the line and run it straight under the support like I did. By not cutting the line and running it like it is in those instructions, it is doing the same thing, just taking a longer path to get there. Nothing wrong with it either and I am sure a lot of people have done it that way. If you are not comfortable with cutting the line or don't have a way to flare the end, then I would just follow those instructions.
The picture of the two units next to each other show what I was talking about in regards to the location of the lines coming of of the coolers. I spent a lot more by doing it the way I did because along with buying the factory metal lines for the radiator (which I needed since the radiator swap was part of it also) I also bought the 6.0 factory cooler hoses that come off the cooler. I just cut the drivers side to the length I need in the picture I posted and the passenger side is formed so it makes its way around the stuff nicely on that side. I will take a few pictures tomorrow to show you the passenger side too.

I used the kit because I don't like driving all over the place looking for the right parts when I can get them sent to the house. I just cut the old supply and return lines off the stock cooler and installed them on the 6.0 cooler. The cooler works great out here in the summer (90-100+ degree days for 5 months) but the truck runs too cold in the winter.
