when the oil gets hot (and thin) a worn poppet valve, even on only one injector, can & will cause low oil pressure (ICP) to ALL of the injectors, as that one worn poppet valve can **** enough oil back into the valve covers to drop the entire system pressure.
If the truck runs good while cold, and runs like crap when hot, then that is textbook poppet valve wear, and an indication that the injectors need new poppet seats cut, and new (poppet) valves lapped...very similar to a valve job on a cylinder head."
With 170K, you may as well do all 8. I have seen first hand what happens with worn out injectors.
Thanks cleatus. I've seen that info from Dave before. That truck happens to be the lowest mileage 7.3 I have, and it's the one that got a bad injector. The others, including mine at 260k, are still running the factory sticks.
