I have replaced one ijector at a time. Now I think I have 3 or 4 new ones and the rest are stock. I know next time I will just get some aftermarket ones and forget this thing of one at a time.
Is the rest of the truck trashed because it is a work truck?
I voted all eight, but if the truck is going to be traded off in less than two years due to amortization, then just pinch the pennies and get the one - cheap.

The truck is in pretty good condition. It's a flat bed so no issues with the bed being dinged up. The truck is already off the books, so no amortization issues. I'm not fond of the 6.4 and will have to wait and see what the next motor brings. The risky side is the truck is driven by an employee, and people don't tend to treat company trucks as well as they treat their own.
Can International Powerstroke injectors be pop tested? I would NOT get all 8 if they can be pressure pop tested. Waste of money if you ask me. If they can be pop tested, pull all of them and take them to a reputable diesel injection shop. Then get them rebuilt, if they can be rebuilt.
In my marine diesels, 6bt cummins and volvo diesels, I can pull each injector and get them all tested and/or rebuilt. Rebuilding is much much cheaper than buying new. Cost me $80 per injector vs. $300 for new.
I called my diesel shop myself and I will stand corrected. Powerstroke injectors cannot be reliably pop tested (false readings). They can, but they have to be taken apart, cleaned, then put back together, and after that's all said and done, it could have just been rebuilt. Doesn't make any sense.
$225 rebuilt
$275 new are the prices I was quoted.
........"and the truck has around 175,000 miles on it, then the poppet valves are probably shot.
when the oil gets hot (and thin) a worn poppet valve, even on only one injector, can & will cause low oil pressure (ICP) to ALL of the injectors, as that one worn poppet valve can **** enough oil back into the valve covers to drop the entire system pressure.
If the truck runs good while cold, and runs like crap when hot, then that is textbook poppet valve wear, and an indication that the injectors need new poppet seats cut, and new (poppet) valves lapped...very similar to a valve job on a cylinder head."
With 170K, you may as well do all 8. I have seen first hand what happens with worn out injectors.
