Different injector question

How many "cc" or "lbs" does a stock injector push? And how much would I want from an aftermarket injector? 97 F-350 diesel

Stock for the 94-97 psd is about 90-100cc's. Most stage ones and twos are about 160cc's. But it can be about as much as ya want. I think some are running 250cc+ injectors.

I checked my book and couldn't find that information. You might try contacting or visiting some of the sponsor sites. They might have the information you're looking for.

ive read numerous times that stock single shots are about 90cc's, the split shots in the second gen 7.3s are about 120cc, and performance injectors are 160+cc. I also read split shots will work in place of single shots, but not vice-versa.

AA codes (95-97 single shots) are about 90 cc, 96,97,early 99 split shots (AB codes) are 120cc, and late 99 to 03 are AD code 140cc split shots.

as far as performance injectors. you can run any of the three above. I have AD codes in my 97 and they are a good increase. If I were to redo my injectors (the previous owner put these in) I would go with stage one (160cc) single shot injectors. I would use the DIY kit.

That DIY seems really complicated. What is the price difference between building my own injectors and buying new ones of the same cc? (160)?

diy are something like $235 plus machincing costs which I think should be less than $150. or just buy the already machined plungers then return your plungers for a core. their prices are on the web site.

Don't be afraid of the DIY kit. It's easy! Had mine done in a day and it runs great!

Ok cool. Im pretty decent with a wrench so i might give it a try. Especially seeing how expensive other injectors are.
