I dont roll that way, but my wife said the same thing after that dinner.
My wifes roommate from college married a big Nashville producer guy, and when Toby came to Montgomery about 6 years ago, she called us and said we had backstage passes at will call, and to come early so we could meet the band. Well we went, but the band and Toby were busy before the show, so we really didnt get much more than a hi. After the show, Shanna(my wifes roommate) said we were going to dinner, but didnt say where. Well it just so happens that in the back of Toby's tour bus is a HUGE BBQ grill, and every Fri night after their shows Toby cooks steaks for all the band and road crew. Toby looked at me and said " you get a big ribeye just like me, and the little lady gets a filet" and he proceeds to start cutting steaks from a ribeye loin, and a tenderloin, and then throws them on the grill. We sat around picnic tables and ate steaks and baked potatos, and talked to Toby. He said he likes to have a sense of family on the road, and since the crew and the band are his family they all sit down at least once a week and have a real home cooked meal. This dude was probably one of the most down to earth people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
It's my fault. Back in the day I would send a user a PM every time I moved a thread, or altered it, or whatever else. Anymore I just do what I need to do and I suppose I just expect folks to figure it out. Not sure why I've gotten out of the habit. Lazyness I suppose.

Gary Cherone. He's got a great voice, but it didn't fit very well with V/H. His previous gig was with a band called Extreme. They were one of my favorites in the late 80's and early 90's. Nuno Bettencourt is still one of my all time favorite guitarists.
Diamond Dave is a punk. I saw him on the 1984 tour and again solo in 87-88. The guy is a totally inept waste of skin.

damn that would be so cool i just got back from a ted nugent concert the fairgrounds was packed
Terrible Ted is touring again?
I've seen him three times.
Does he still jump from the top of the amps to the stage and have the flash pots go off at the beginning of the second half?
So what's everyone up to? Any big plans for the weekend? Not sure what we are doing as I am exhausted. This week was a grinder and then today I spent most of the day on my hands and knees underneath a big elastomer injection molding gun troubleshooting a problem. We got it but I am wiped out.
Sounds like good and bad news all rolled into one.
Take it easy and rest up for Monday.
.
My plans are to haul trash to the dump for the shop, then wash the truck and trailer in prep for the vacation trip to Yellowstone with the kids.

Yep, he's still touring and his band is tight right now. Mick Brown on drums and Greg Smith on bass. No second guitar, just Ted and it sounds SONIC.

Yellowstone.....nice. I haven't been there since I was a kid but sure would like to go again.
With as tired as I was yesterday I still woke up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. Still going to take your advice and relax this weekend. Might head to store here in a few and see what kind of ribs they have in the meat section....

Is Greg Smith the original bass player?
I thought Nugent sounded a lot better if he would just shut up and let the bass player sing, and stick to playing guitar, like in the song "Stranglehold".
When his ego got in the way and Ted started to scream into the microphone, I lost interest.

This will be the third trip for me, and the first for the grandsons. I'm really looking forward to showing them the park.

No, Greg Smith isn't his original bassist but he's good. Yeah, I don't get into the screaming either but I sure like to watch and listen to him play.
I can just imagine the time that your grandsons will have with you. Good times right there. Take pics!
Having boudin for breakfast and then I'm running to HEB for ribs and maybe a pork shoulder. HEB has the best meat for a supermarket. I'll post up some pics later....
This may be considered off topic in the off topic thread, but here goes anyway. Has anyone in your family or circle of friends ever fallen for one of these Nigerian 419 scams? I am asking because my 92 year old father has 600k invested in one now. It has been going on for 2 years and he still continues to send money. It is always tomorrow he will be getting his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This pot being 19 million that he is the sole heir of. He will listen to no one about it. I first found out about it when I was in Alaska in 06 and he only had 120k into it. I thought I had put a stop to it, but he was merely lying to me. It has me sick to my stomach needless to say. You can even Google the scammer that plucked my father, Richard Bama, and learn all about him. I have even sent my Dad the Google search and he still thinks it's on the up and up.
