Saw a dodge yesterday at the local dealership.....they look ok....but I wasn't all that impressed....
See my first one in person today as well. Bloke down the road has one. He came past me whilst i was sealing my drive. First off all it looked better in the pics i see on line. In person the front end from the side looked really goofy. Cant explain it but it just didnt suit a truck. The rest of it really just looked like the 08 rams. Nothing really stood out. Cant even see them selling these to the Dodge crowd as they really cant be happy with the lame improvements over the last gen trucks. To be honest if i didnt see the front end from the side i would have guessed it was just an 08 ram.
The back seat is bigger...and i kinda liked the front look.....but the interior was still a dodge crappy interior....for all the "improved quality" I didn't see it...

Yeah about that interior. I see a review somewhere about the interior of both the dodge ram and the platinum f150 and they said the ram interior was better than the fords lol. I have seen both in pictures and the Ford blows the ram away in every way. be it the seats the dash the center console every bit of the fords is far superior than the rams. The ram interior looks like a cheap rip off of the fords. I really cant see how they came to that conclusion. Esp since everyone knows what Dodges interiors are like.
Sure, power sells...and I wouldn't go so far as to call someone lame if they buy one for the 390 HP, either....
I think for the market they're after, it's a fine truck. glitzy 20" wheels, lots o' power, nice looking interior...
But not a workhorse like I need in a truck. Complex coil spring setup likely won't handle tongue weight like our -150s...this also makes it difficult to install airbags to help those coils. Crew cab is nice and big inside...but only offered with a 5 foot bed...great for parking at walmart...but not so good for a work truck...
Don't get me wrong...I really like the Ram...great for those who occasionally need a truck, but really want a comfy commuter truck, and loads o' power. If I didn't pull heavy things very often...I'd love one.
It's a 1/2 ton truck. But it really is a 1/2 ton, not a quasi 3/4 ton as all the others are. IMO it sounds like an awesome ride. 390 HP, 5 speed auto, great ride, big cab, 20MPG hwy, and still respectable towing and payload.
