I sometimes get as far as Kenora. I have an 86 ford Triple E motorhome and we like to go camping (if you can call it that). It has a few idiosyncrasies so untill I correct them I don't take it too far. I'm not a long distant driver, I love sleep too much, and my wife won't drive the motorhome. how about you, ever get out our way?
Grant, the last time I was that far West was in the late 70s when I moved to Red Deer Alberta, I went out there to make the big bucks on the pipeline & oil rigs, G
I usually head south from here when I travel.........
Our door opening is 98-99 inches wide and 108 - 109 inches tall. on our decks we can go 102 inches wide. We've hauled a F350 before but the driver had to crawl out the sliding rear window to get out (gerth restrictions) lol. We used to bring E350 cab and chassis out of North Carolina to a local RV manufacturer.

I also plan on buying a truck from the states in a few years. I was talking to a fella around here, and he was telling me he saved almost 20 grand by buying from down south.
Sheldon, that what I'm thinking, better deals down there but US speedo in them....
My wife has a 06 Eddie Bauer Explorer we bought locally, but was a Carolina truck. She's used to the backward speedo. Me on the other hand took it shopping the other day and totally had to adjust, it's marked both but the promanent numbers are MPH. I just went with the flow. lol

You guys let me know before you buy and I can get shipping quotes from both Canadian and US truckers. I've brokered quite a few deals through a load board only offered to trucking companies. I brought a harley for a good friend from Portland to Fargo, ND. (3 hrs from us) FOR $400.00. The truck had room and the seller was very flexable. Remember when you buy you need a 72 hr waiting period at U.S. Customs to release the vehicle from leins or criminal activity, and you will also have register the vihicle as an import. In Manitoba it cost's around $400.00 and all canadian standards must be updated before registration. Any time you need any advise feel free to call me at work, my number is 800-343-9343, pass it along I don't mind helping people on this, it's good for bussiness.
Man o Man, I thing this is the longest stretch for me on this forum. I'm going to the garage for a beer and a smoke ( I know it's bad, but It's what I do ) I promise I'll quit going to the garage unless I'm working on my truck. LOL
Grant, thank you so much for all your time & advice, its been a real pleasure talking to you, when I buy I wont rush the system, I know how to play the game, thx again Gerry
I repped you before today so I cant rep you right now, G
That is very cool of you Grant! Ive always wanted a little bigger bike as well, hmm.... haha
We bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel that was originally from Michigan, and it has the backwards speedo as well. Its a little weird at first, but ya do get used to it. Damn jeep is so smooth though, that you can easily hit 80mph, and it doesnt seem that fast! Not quite as slow as 80kmph though haha.
Do you guys ever do much cross country stuff? The company I work for, we are always looking for flatdeck work from Etobicoke out west, or alot of times from Winnipeg to Saskatoon, or Calgary, or Edmonton. Its crap that needs to be tarped though haha.
