I thought the same thing. "show off you MOTO'S" thread
While removing the foil. Watch, That stuff will dice your fingers up. Wear some gloves because the foil is sharp. It is like working with razor blades. Also when reinstalling, make sure the tube don't tap against the power steering pump bolt. Mine almost had a hole in the tube from all the years of tapping.

Dan, you are right on making sure nothing rubs against something else. I watch that all the time. Been there, done that.
Wow im jelous as hell of those motors, mine looks like a drain pan exploded under my hood.... whats the best way to thoroughly clean it without causing any damage?
Right or wrong and i don't do to often.
I spray around with simple green. Cold motor
Garden hose to bottom of my hot water tank hooked to my pressure washer (being careful here)
Use my air compressor to blow off wire connections, etc. And i leave hood up for a long time to let things dry up.. Then cross my fingers that she starts.
Gotcha, well Ive got some wicked oil/fluid leaks of all sorts and its difficult to find the source when everything is dripping with oil/fluid. So id like to clean it up to pinpoint the problem.thanks
