that sounds way to good to be true.your claiming like 5-6 mpg increase Joe.but i like the sounds of it anyway lol.
i wish we had a bunch more reports of people who were n/a and went to a turbo.seems like all we hear about is the power increase.i drive like granny and don't hardly use the power of the n/a as is most of the time,so iv got such little interest there.

well, my speedo doesnt have a tripometer, and i keep forgettin what the odo says when i fill up, so i have no idea what im doin for mileage. i know its pretty **** poor, since most of my drivin is "fire. drive two miles. shut down. sit for two days. fire. drive two miles. shut down." BUT a tank of fuel is still lastin a little more than three weeks, so its all good.

oh, and i forgot to mention, that im doin a white face gauge mod, and im replacin the speedo with one out of another truck that has a tripometer, so ill have white faces, AND be able to figure my mileage better. im also upgradin to blue dash lights, since i have the cluster out anyways.

Yeah my F150 doesn't have a trip meter either. Thought I died and went to heaven when I got the diesel and it had that, along with just about every other factory option. Both are factory "Lariats" but the F150 is the second most basic lariat I ever saw.

Although my trip meter would jamb at the 100km mark so I had to take it apart and fix it. But at least you can fix them in these old trucks since everything is mechanical.

ok. here are my "new" gauges.

before:

after:

it took forever, hand painted all the gauges, with a combination of white spray paint, blue sharpie, metalic blue, turn-signal yellow, and red model paint, silver spray paint (for the plastic behind the gauges to help the lights show a little better), blue back lights with the filters removed, and leds for the warnin lights and turn signals. also swapped the speedo for one out of another truck cause it has a tripometer, where the original didnt.

That looks good!
I was trying to figure out where you would find aftermarket gauges for an '80-'86 truck.

Looks good. Also like the older straight grain fake wood. Did you swap that tach in yourself? I thought 1985 was the first year they were optional.

no. the tach was in it when i got it. it doesnt work, as there is no sendin unit for it. im pretty sure all the gauges were out of another truck, save for the speedo, but now ive replaced it too. i intend to make the tach work, so im keepin it. besides, it looks good.

here are some better daylight pics:

I like how you left the metric numbers white. I admit the metric system is better but I'm an American and I ain't usin' it!

I live in Norway, where they use Km/h, and odly enough, I use the Mph, since its easier, for me to se the numbers, and stay right under the speedlimit.
And I might have to do the same, to my meters, cause those are cool.

i was gonna do the km/h in silver, but i mistook the sharpie i bought for it as silver, when it was a stainless cased, black. so i just left em white. i can still see them if i were to ever venture into canada or somethin.
