Anyone know the real difference between the two? Whether one is better than the other? I'm ready to order one and can't make up my mind. The cost is the same for each. The thermocouple is a bit more for the Dashhawk but no big deal. Thanks for any input.
MSD and Edge are owned by the same parent company. Without looking at them I'd guess you could just as well ask if someone dislikes a GMC or Chevy the most. Go with the one that looks the best.
Oh, you have to buy extra probes and jabbers to get proper tranny and what not, temps. Straight outta the OBD is about as helpful as your stocker.
Not true at all. The tranny temp readings are very accurate, they just run off the Ford sensor, which is in a different location than the port where most people are adding their analog tranny temp sensor. The different location causes the slightly different readings. If you just know what temps to watch for you are fine.
As far as the stock gauge, Ford has made those useless in many different vehicles, for a long time now. They got sick of people coming in complaining about how long it took something to warm up, or this seems to be running hot (when it is still withing the normal range), so rather than getting rid of them they just dumbed them down. I disagree with them doing that, but I can understand why they would do it.
