Digital Pillar Gauges

OK, now that the 2008 has been on the market for more than two years, has anyone come across digital pillar gauges that hook into the ODBC port that show EGT, boost, etc. (i.e. allows me to choose whatever parameter I want)? I know there is DashHawk - DashHawk Vehicle Information Display and DashDAQ - DashDAQ Series II from Drew Technologies. But I am looking for something with a more "built in" look and I don't want wires and suction cups hanging out all over the place.

subscribing...would be nice to have something that you could mount and not worry about.

Talk about a confusing site! One part of the site talks about ODBC, but then another talks about the sensors that you need to get to get them to work. But after watching the video, it looks like if you want to measure something that the ODBC does not provide, you get the sensor.

Has anybody here used these?

With the Insight, get the dash pod and do not buy the EGT temp. probe. The unit just plugs in and you can get 4 different EGT readings and also a long list of other parameters.

If you lean towards buying the edge buy the Power Hungry Performance version. They can custom tune where Edge cannot. Even if you have the Edge, PHP can transfer it over to their version and do custom tunes for you. It does look very nice as well.

They have 2 versions, one is just analog sensors and the other does ODBC and analog. I haven't used them, but I have it booked marked just in case I ever talk myself into it.

Well, after talking to the guy at the site, I think that these are the gauges that I want. Now I just need to come up with $400.

Also, does anybody know of a company that sells a-pillar gauge pods that match the color of the truck's interior? The one's that I've seen are black ABS plastic that you can paint.
  1. I hate the look of ABS plastic all smooth and yucky, I really like the textured look and feel of my current pillar cover in my King Ranch.
  2. There is no plastic paint that I have found that matches the cream color of my existing interior. The Satin Almond in the Krylon Fusion is close . . .

Is the Insight a programmer or just a monitor?
