pre egr YF carb, stock intake, efi exhaust, walker downpipe, 2.5" exhaust running out behind the rear wheel with thrush cheapy turbo muffler. Nothing real fancy. It's got 250,000 miles on it, so maybe it's aged like an old acoustic guitar, lol.
Maybe with the bronco wheelbase, the pipe length is pretty short, and the sound is affected by that?
The length does make a big difference. If you weren't a gearhead and wasn't really listening, you might have mistaken mine for a 302 when I had my exhaust exit in front of my rear tire. Now I have it behind the tire and it sounds like a big I6 (which I really like. I think it sounds good).
Yours sounds pretty aggresive though. It's one of the best 300's I've heard. Of course I love that I6 sound, not everyone does.
You have me on the miles, but not by a whole lot my friend. I'm on nearly 212,000 miles myself.
Hey crest, can you take another video showing your whole truck? I'd like to hear you rev it up too. Don't put the camera so close to the tail pipe next time.
lol yeahh it was kinda ****ty out today i was tryin to get it done before it rained, and i didnt really know how well my moms digital camera would pick up sound haha

Digital camera miss a lot of detail the human ear picks up but it's close enough. However, having the camera too close to the tail pipes doesn't enhance the sound, only inhibits it. I'm eager to hear another sound clip, Crest! Come on!
on the contrary, if you use a glasspack with both cats, as i did, it sounds very good, and it is loud in the cab but nothing too unbareable, i loove the sound of it, and i have the shortest glasspack that i could find, i love the sound

Crest is correct. "Horrible" was way too harsh. What I should have said is, "It doesn't sound bad, but it could sound better." I ran glass packs on my truck before. What sounds good to one man may sound bad to another. What I don't like about glasspacks is how they give you that BLAH! BLAT! sound when you rev.
With that said I'm going to say something to contradict myself. Glasspacks sounded good on my truck compared to the flowmaster 40. My truck sounded like a Honda with the flowmaster. That's why I used a Magnaflow on the Escape and not a baffled muffler. I wanted the Escape to rumble down low and get quiet as you accelerate. The Magnaflow does just that.
It really all depends on what you do with your cats. I think a 300 sounds good with nothing after the cats. Sounds like a tractor!
to a point i think im putting a glasspack on to get rid of the ticking a little my truck didnt have a tick with the glasspack on,after test driving a cummins on saturday,my truck sounds like a mini cummins it doesnt sound as deep as the dodge
