yea that is a good idea JOE-M those diablo predators read codes also dont they?
Yes they do, even when VIN locked.
I went out on the freeway with another member here and datalogged his truck to try and figure out what was wrong.
We then came back and discovered that he was 8 quarts low on oil.

He,s lucky i would say. Well, got in there today to check the tube and sensor and low and behold it was gunked up more so on the sensor end and the middle of the tube. Ran some weed wacker line thruogh it plus some wd-40 and soaked it with it as well. Blew it out with some compressed air, cleaned near the contacts(very carefully) and reasembled. If i can keep my foot out of it(WW) i hope i get alittle better mileage.
So along the same lines as checking for codes and cleaning the EBPV,
I am getting very poor mileage, have done a bunch of things, including cleaning the EBPV and tube.
Now how do I tell if it is actually working properly?
I am not getting a code and it is "clean"
I did however hook up an edge tuner/code reader and it will give data and there is a spot that says EBP and the reading will go up and down as I push or let off the go pedal. this leads me to belieave that it is working.
are there any other ways to test it?
or only if it throws a code?
How much is a replacement?
might be worth changing to just try it or is it a $200 part type of thing.
If you'll watch on Ebay you can sometimes pick up a Superchips tuner that is vin locked very cheap. There was one on there the other day that was $25. The code reader part will still work fine even though it is locked.
Joe
I did not realize that it would still reads codes. I will have to keep an eye out... thanks!!!
