So, if we follow along with the lame instruction sheet, we need to pull down the Solenoid pack which uses a combination of torx head and bolts. See video for size. I believe it was #27 Torx and like 10 mm but don't quote me. Now, if you have a 5" exhaust, you will not see the connector which is outside the tranny above the pan. You can barely even get your hands on it once you realize you fubared something. At any rate, it does not have a heat shield like the video shows, rather a protective sheathing. I broke my locking tab, whoopdidoo. Well it was a PITA getting it back on so do it right.
Here's a pic of the solenoid pack connecter after I broke the tab prying the pack off. Bottom looking up. Goes right out the top and an Oring is the only seal there, Clever eh?
So here is the solenoid pack. It had a lot of crud on it for some reason.
At any rate, clean it off well and look for the hole EX, mine had it so I reinstalled it, what a waste.
See the broken tab? Also, notice that not only does it have the hole but the body itself is relieved where you would drill. Makes you wonder what Ford may have learned from Transgo eh?
Up next, drilling the plate.
a mushroom looking pice fell out when i removed my solonoid, any idea where it goes?
I hope you figure it out and good luck. This is right out of my shop DVD:
"NOTE: The solenoid body cannot be disassembled to clean and inspect for contamination. Contamination is a major source of solenoid body failure. Install a new solenoid body anytime contamination is evident."
I don't think I am going to be much help. Did it come out of the Solenoid body?

i did figure out where it went, it is supposed to be under the separator plate. but mine came through. i got a schematic off of a sonax sight and it showed where it went. i pushed it back in but it wont stay. so i think there is a part of the problem with my shifting. probably needs new separator plate.waiting for a call from the trans shop.
Question... does this replace the need for a VB? Also, what is the difference between the HD2 and the Tugger? Now that I'm upping the power (slowly), the transmission seems to not hold. It's fairly new so I doubt it's the transmission. The shifts are muddy (except for one... makes no sense) and there is a big delay between hitting the pedal and when the wheels start to grab. There is also a "shutter" under acceleration that was mentioned in the TransGo sheet that I'm curious to see if I can eliminate. For being $50 on Summit, I'm tempted to do this!

HD 2 and the Tugger kit are upgrades for the valve body (accumulator body). Basically you do the body yourself, opposed to buying it.
The differences. Tugger kit has more parts. It dose the pump, accumulator body, and valve body.It include a couple of snap rings that should be replaced in the trans.
The HD 2 kit plays with the accumulator body. A little easier to work with.
