PSOM interchangeability?

I have determined that my PSOM is what is causing my speedo to jump all over the place. I'm trying to source one out....used....rebuilt....etc.....

Will ANY PSOM from 92-97 ford trucks/Bronco fit?

Thanks

Yes any PSOM will work from 92-97. Where you run into problems is if you replace the whole cluster- if you go that route be sure to get a cluster from the same year as your truck is.

check out these guys
Electronic Speedometer Service

Chase why do you say you need a cluster from the same year. 94.5 to 97 should all be the same. Do you know of a difference?

BTW I may have a 95 Cluster for sale.....

Tim there are minor differences in the wiring among the different years (at least on the gas motors) for the indicator lights. When I put a 92 cluster in my old 95 to see if the PSOM was shot the ABS light stayed light and other lights were screwy also. I assume the same can be said for the PSD's but I'm not 100% on that. Throw your 95 cluster in your 97 and see what happens!

Thats alot of work! I will just compare wiring diagrams! I would guess that the 95-95 models are the same but I can't be sure 100%

96 harness in 92 150

My truck:
92 F150, 4.9, ATI had a melt down on fuse 8 from fuse box in cab to firewall connector melting a few wires.
I purchased a harness out of a 96.
All of my connectors plugged into the 96 harness.

Working:
Speedo and audometer
signals/flashers all lights do work

Not working:
Guages. fuel,volts, oil pressure, temp
radio
AC switch to blower
Washer/wipers

Is this a bad ECM? Possibly burned up
Also if I replace these components, the connectors fit but the color code 92-96 are slightly different in some cases.

The truck runs and transmission shifts properly.

Big Thank You

tnbeggs,

Thake a look at my post on the 92 to 96 harness swap.

I believe the clusters are the same for 95 and 96?

I put a 96 harness in my 92 and some items are not working. Do I need a cluster from a 96?
