Like I said both are good motors and if the V8's do the job then great. Also about the vibration on the DT's, if it's bothersome, next time it in the shop, get them to raise the Idle 50rpm. Mine was set at factory to 750rpm, I had them to Idle it up to 800rpm and the vibration was gone. Also get a knowledgeable mechanic do what is called "run a rack" on the engine (cost about $200.00). It more or less fine tunes the pump timing to the injectors. I have this done every 50,000 miles, really helps keep it running well. I have done inframes on these engines myself but I leave the fuel management to the pros.

Are you sure you are talking about a 2003 DT and not a 1993 version?

Yes, the procedure changed but it accomplishes the same thing. Don't know what the correct terminology may be now, but when I tell Robert what I want, he takes care of it. He also still call it this.

Anyhow very disappointed in fords new front ends. Like mentioned in the link with the pics it looks like the truck has downs syndrome.

The truck in the pictures does look really screwy, but that is not the way the finished product will be thats forsure. I think the current generation of the Superduty looks freakin good, especially with a nice big lift done to it.

what i dont get as why start with a 6.9 oh ok it was al right then to a 7.3 witch was bigger and better but still wasnt great. then was the 7.3 power stroke. good engine great i love it,but then to go smaller to a 6.0 eh ok .then they decided to up that to a 6.4 to be better yet eh i dont no about that, but then to goto a 6.7 all with in 10 years. Not very nice of them, but can you see there working there way back up now. By the looks of it they will be back up to a 7.3 soon enough lol. well you no what they say theres no "replacement for displacement" thats what i beleive in anyays. I dont know if this means anything but i did want to say it LOL.

It was to do with emissions why they went smaller I believe, now with the new emissions having more displacement puts you in a different level or something. Stock for stock the 6.0 pumps out more power then the 7.3, does drink a bit more fuel and needs to be taken care of better, now the 6.4 drinks a lot more fuel but supposedly the use of urea in the 6.7 will help bring the mileage back up.

Have the said directly they are using a Urea system? I has hoping they were going to go with a EGR only system like international. I know Gm has already said they were using a urea for their smaller diesel. Urea is very expensive.

Edit: i see elsewhere that they are... It is going to be an expensive engine to maintain and run.

Urea is a fertilizer. Now it will poison something else. Probably kill all the road workers when you drive by. Ford screwed up too much now and they are changing the design once more which will take 3 years to prove on the highway and then they'll change it again. My neighbor has a 6.4 and he has had injection problems and cost's him $400 apop to go to a shop.
