Hey I like the name! I'm Robb, but with 2 b's (and I have no idea why)
Here is a thread to get you started
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...v-idm-mod.html

It is safe, but you need to be darn confident with soldering, and if you screw up, it's gonna be a $500 screw up. Let us know if you still thinking about it after reading...

Here is a thread scroll down to my post. You need to unsolder the resistor and replace it with another one that allows more voltage

Actually Robb, you don't un-solder that chip #6042. You take a small screwdriver, place it against the side of the resister and "TAP" the screwdriver and the resister will break into two (2) or more pieces.

If you were closer, I would do it for you.

I now that there is "A Guy" that does it for $100.00 and I think that either TJ or Madvan has his name.

It's really a piece of cake if you have a 15W soldering iron, ,015 solder and a little adventure blood. With that said, if you are not that comfortable with it,
DON'T DO IT!!

I've got a few pics of one of the IDM's I modded in my gallery. The R&R instructions will not apply to you OBS guys, but the insides of the IDM are the same.
