IDM mod help

Alright guys I have my spare IDM, resistor (thanks Scott!), soldering iron and the cover off. My IDM doesn't look the same as the IDM in this link
IDM Mod
Mine is an IDM 100 which I think is why its different. For those of you who have done this mod here is what my IDM looks like

Its the blue resistor marked 6042.
Its just above the 3 wrapped caps in the photo.

Very nice! thanks guys! I gotta get some finer solder so I will see if I can destroy a perfectly good IDM tomorrow!

Tim, get .020 solder w/silver Radio Shack carrys it or will have at least something close. If you tin the resister wires first it flows quickly.

Oh, crap you know all this stuff just remember, you grumbled about my use of a BFG. lol

And I am not bored, .......I just don't have anything left to break.....at the moment.

I like the .015 silver bearing solder that radio shack carries a little better. Flows very quickly, even with a 15w iron.

I've got several IDM mod pics in my gallery Tim.

Thanks Scott. So no matter where its at or which IDM you working on its the resistor that says 6042 on it. Nice of them to label it for us! Going to Radio shack in the morning.

I can still complain. WHY DID THEY JUST MAKE THEM 140 VOLTS TO START WITH!!!!

Yep. Same on all three styles.

WHY DID THEY JUST MAKE THEM 140 VOLTS TO START WITH!!!!
If they had we'd be converting them to 180 now.

HMMMMM. Wonder what kind of voltage I would see it I left out the resistor and just put a piece of wiring in there...... Think it would run for more the 2 seconds....(joking!) lol

Of course... Now you have me wondering what would happen if the voltage is over 140... Like 180, 220!!! bad things I would imagine... but what exactly?
