If you want to see the results of a K&N drop in filter in one of our trucks, search for the photos I posted of my truck after I bought it! Scary to say the least. I was lucky there appears to be no turbo damage. I'd post them again, but I can't (internet filter at work).
So what is this about unplugging the IAT sensor throwing codes? I unplugged mine and the truck seemed to run better. Maybe I'll throw it back in and see if it was just my imagination.

Chase and joe, i checked the tube coming out of my air box today and there was no dirt whatsoever, thank god.I have about approx. 4,000 miles on this new airbox. I,m wondering if s-b went to a new filter. It,s the oiled kind. I got the newest system with the snorkel.

Some folks don't have problems with the K&N. I would wager a guess that you can't under or over oil it. You have to get it just right and keep it that way. I'm about to order another 6637 for this year. I had mine off yesterday to install the 4" OD SS exhaust pipe I've been putting off (there and where the CCV coupler used to be). After having it directly on the intake tube, the neck was actually SMALLER than the *ID* of the pipe. It dang near fit inside it. I had to use a hair dryer and a lot of shoe-horning with a screwdriver to get it on. Between that and the 3" ID PVC coupler I had in place of the CCV, I think it's breathing better now. Wish I would've done that before the dyno last week...

I,m just glad i didn,t see any dirt. I'll keep an eye on it more now. Still shopping around for gauges though. Looking at the ISSPRO gauges you told me about.
