I have all my parts in I think. A 6637, 45* 4" and a clamp. I removed the stock box and the ribbed flex intake hose that attaches to the stock box top. I am trying to figure out where the 4" tube attaches to now. It won't go inside of the solid mounted piece(between the two hoses) so I'm guessing that I need to put back on the intake hose, cut the intake tube because right now it would be too long if I set it up that way. I looked at some pictures through here and people have it mounted different ways. Any suggestions? Also, the sensor that went in the stock box, tape it to the firewall?
Did the 45* 4" pipe you have come with one expanded side to slip over a 4" pipe? Mine did and I had to cut off the expanded part. Leave the rubber intake hose hooked up to that metal intake part, and dont cut it, then slip the 4" pipe into it. Line everything up the way you want it and tighten it all up. That intake sensor is just sitting next to the end of my filter
97F-350 you have been on dial up for almost 2000 post! Your #'s are going to go way up!
I really like this filter setup because you start with a new fresh filter and dont have to wait half a day to for it to dry after you clean it (AFE filter). I had my 1st 6637 filter on a piece of straight 4" pipe and it worked fine.
Thanks guys,
I figured I had to cut the tube to length. I bought the one that doesn't have an expanded end but I need to cut it because it's too long. Also, once it's cut to length, does the filter just rest on the wheel well when all said and done and won't move around? Thanks for the pics 97, that should help me out on the cut. By the way, I'm in Spokane, where you at? And how did you attach those pictures in your reply?

you have got to put them in your fte gallery. the easiest way if you wanna attach more than one is to open up a separate screen with your gallery and one for your post. you then open the picture up and copy it. then in the post screen paste it. then if you want to do another same process. you have to do this from the view gallery. find your truck and open the gallery. you cant do it from the edit gallery where you attach pics or can you??? heck i dont know. im in shelton. you are a little far. i thought maybe you might have been close. just looking for fellow fte r's in the area.

I´m doing the conversion, and I have some questions:
1.- In the pics there are some filters with an attachmen to fix the filter to the truck, and anothers NO, can you leave it free?
2.- In the stock intake, there are a little plastic cylinder (I don´t remember the name) which tells you if the stock filter is ok or it´s clogged, and time to change stock filter, do you put it in someplace or discard it?, is the same thing as somebody mention like the sensor to the firewall?
3.- some pics has the stock shroud and others no, what is better?.
1. You can leave it free. The commercial version of this filter set up from Tymar has the mount, but most all of the home made versions do not use it.
2. It's called a filter minder. You do not need to reuse it, but if you want to you can drill a hole in the black plastic in the top of the big filter and mount it there.
3. I doubt if it makes much difference. Call it personal preference.
