questions about rebuilding a fe?

ok so i have a 360 right now that i want to get rebuilt. my questions are 1. what do i need to make this motor into a 390? 2. if i leave it a 360 what can i do to bump up the hp and compression. 3. what is the best option to go with 360 or 390?

It's real simple, the 360 is a 390 block, so all you need is a 390 rotating system (crank, rods, pistons) rather than the 352 rotating system that it currently has.

Piece of cake, just speck it out like you want.

Add to prev post: By using the 390 crank, rods, pistons, you solve the "sunken piston" and compression ratio problems of the 360. Trying to find high CR 360 pistons seems to be hard to do, according to others on this site.

Other variables will determine final CR. (actual piston used, heads, head work)

I got a C4AE-B 390 crank (10/10) and a set of 390 rods setting in the shed if you want to make things easy on yourself. You'll have to get pistons for the build though. All mine are std.. You might have to hunt down 1 extra rod as one's small end is worn OofR but that isn't that big a task. Your local it would seem, OC so it might save me the trouble ebaying the chit off ...PM me if interested.
