If you don't me asking, how much did you pick it up for...?

The way Westin's website is set up, you have to do a search to get to that part number. However, in their listing of vehicles, the installation instructions are clickable, so here is the link to the PDF installation instructions: http://www.westinautomotive.com/page...ts/75-0917.pdf
Since I'm not not the one who installed them, I don't know if the mounting brackets needed to be modified to fit a '79 truck or not. I'll have to crawl under there and see how they are installed. They seem pretty solid, though. The previous owner put a lot of attention to detail into this truck. Nothing appears to be a "hack job." Well, I take that back. He put lift blocks under the front leaf springs to level the truck, rather than put new springs in. I plan on putting a "real" lift kit on it as soon as I can!
76f350spercamprspeal, most people think I paid too much money for this truck, but I think it was worth it. My logic was, I could buy a fixer-upper and put a lot of money (and time) into it, or I could buy one that someone else put a lot of money into. We all know that you never get the money out of a truck that you put into it when you sell it, and I know by thumbing through my ring binder full of receipts, that the seller took a major loss when he sold it to me. I've been looking for a rust-free '79 F350 4X4 Supercab for years, and I recently had a bit of good luck on the stock market that gave me some "guilt-free" spending money (and no, I'm not a rich guy, I'm just a regular working class dog. In fact, I pretty much emptied the bank account to buy this truck. My job has since taken a slight down-turn, so I won't have any money to put into this truck until next year). The fact that this one's a Lariat that is loaded with factory options was icing on the cake. I wasn't too hip about the flatbed at first, but I've really grown to like it.

Nothing fancy but no rust. Just some DC-1's with 285/70-r17 Cooper STT's. I have a D60 to swap in, just need to find the time.
I'm also planning to paint it 2 stage black next summer. It's mostly a tar baby since I use it primarily for towing but I like to take a trip through the woods with my daughter now and then too. Sooooo many plans and so little time....

By the way, I'd be in the same boat as the guy that you bought your rig from....I've got WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more invested into Buford than I'd ever see out of him, but the good thing is that I'm taking that truck to my grave so I don't have to worry about it.
