using a 76 supercab 2x with the guts from my 77 standard cab 4x

that seems like a decent truck for 1500 dollars and it appears to have the 60 front. you never really know what its worth without looking at it though
how can i tell if it's a dana 44 or 60? it's a high pinion, i looked at it, but i didnt see a tag on it.

on a 78/9 assuming it would be a factory correct axle look to see if it has balljoints

balljoints =dana44
no ball joints =dana 60
also a dana 60 will have a 4 inch O.D. lock out

Ok - weird board glitch. I swear I just saw a post from CrazyRedneckAnyhow asking the length of a supercab long bed. Below was my responce....

you've been around long enought to know where the search button is Dave

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...s-covered.html

It says in there it's 155

Now I don't see that post, so I'll respond to the "truck **** above" and say that it is soft core stuff. The hard core will come when my build of a similar truck (pics a page or 2 back) starts and I rip it's exterior off and expose what's underneath!

here's the 77 Scab i just picked up. I've been wanting to do one of these for a long time. I've had a few dent sides but never an Scab.
big plans of coarse. starting with a bunch of cancer repair. going to pick up a new bed tomorrow. this one is just to far gone.
4X4 and a five speed are the big changes. everything else will be pretty much cosmetic. wish me luck!

Very good on you for the Supercab retrofit. I'm a fan.
The last three trucks are especially nice to me. Wish I had the shortbox 2WD to replace my 78 F150. Figure I'll have to make one of them too...

The black with orange stripes... very nice as well..

Good Work Gents.

Thank You, I get alot of compliments on it, i bought the 4x2 supercab first planning on making it a 4x4 but found the black 4x4 shortly after so I had to have it too. I love these old trucks and i'm glad my wife likes them too, she even likes to help work on all of my projects. I couldn't ask for anyone better! LOL
