Sometimes I would rather be back in the big city. Where I live now, I have neighbors that have numerous double first cousins, missing teeth and to top it off I always feel like I'm hearing "dueling banjos".

Just change pubs to bars(I know they are the same thing, but the other locals would still have something to say about the different name designation) and that's pretty much how it was like in Dallas/Plano except more options.

Feh...

110 gals of B-10, in Woodhull, IL was $401.39. ($3.649)

120 gals of D#2, in Kearney, MO was $411.23. ($3.419)

10 hours between purchases.

The $80 it takes to fill the F250 doesn't really make me sweat any more, except for the novelty of the number.

Hint: The price of diesel comes from two things: a very *W*E*A*K* dollar, and oil company/republican party greed.

Oil is priced in dollars, so when the dollar is weaker than a fresh-hatched baby chick, it takes a lot of 'em to buy a barrel of oil. Currency depreciation ALONE is worth $40 a barrel. If the dollar was back at E1.00, (versus it's near E1.50 (that's euros, BTW)), gas would be around $2.25 or so, given equal world "political" conditions.

Oil Co/Republican Party greed is a big part of the equation because we have OVERT connections between the administration and the oil. In previous administrations, the links were still there, but they weren't being used to slap the American Public in the face like they are at the current time. As long as the connections are in such large public view, the raping of the American public will continue.

I'll bet a good chunk of revenue that gas and diesel prices will start to head for the basement, oh, about mid-september, like they did in 2006, as the Republicans start to try to "buy" the election by bringing fuel prices down. And no matter who wins, they'll stay down because such "obvious" ties between politics and oil will go away with the changing of the guard on 1/20/2009. If only the Fed can keep CPR going on the American Economy long enough for it to come to pass.

My local Speedway just raised its price another 11 cents. Up to $3.75 from $3.49 in 5 days.

Ouch.

Atleast the majority of y'all have the ability to swap vehicles, I don't have that luxury unless they make a focus(I would really hate to have that vehicle though) that can haul gooseneck trailers.

I doubt any type of ties will change overtly or otherwise as long as this country depends greatly on this type of fuel and input of production in just about every common product out there. People might want to try to forget about it, but the ties are still going to be there overtly or otherwise unless a different fuel source and/or input of production in those common products comes about.

"Big Oil/Republican greed"???

You got to be kidding me!

Of course, it's an election year...

The Synthetic Fuels Corporation was formed during a Republican's term...right?

How about we allow those who really need to shoulder the blame to stand up - us. We are hooked on the stuff and it will take drastic measures to change that.

It goes beyond being hooked. For the most part we are greedy, if we see a way to make a profit we will do it. Screw the people we hurt, it's all about me......

but you have to take into account the other half of that equation...you pay more for everything in a big city, but your income is generally significantly higher than if you were doing the same job in the boonies. basic economics.

move to the boonies, lots of stuff is cheaper, but chances are you aren't making a wall street salary either...

It's gotten tothe point now where if someone even farts in congress they say 'ohhhhhhhh time to raise the price of fuel again' I told the ol' lady that I'm gonna start looking at the new '09 Camry Sport Edition to do my estimates and personal running around in instead of the truck.

Sorry guys I like Ford for my work vehicles but I stick with Toyota for my personal vehicles. Plus the ol' lady hates the new Camry so it will keep her from wanting to drive it lol.

Diesel went from $3.45 to $3.65 in a matter of a week here in So Cal.

You need to do some math. Buying a car is not going to save you money. If you spend $30K on a car, how much fuel would that have bought you. Plus you need to add in the fuel the car is burning. I bet if you do the math you will find out the break even point is at around 110K miles. So, you just broke even, then ask how much longer will the car run.

Now if you want to buy a car, because you want a car. Go ahead.
