The stock dmax injectors are good for 800RWHP for what it's worth. (not on a stock turbo obviously) The extra 1000psi is good for the CP3 if it's true but I wouldn't bet my life savings on it since I have seen a spike of 32,000 on a dmax CP3.

Honestly I can't believe the stock tranny is holding it and not burning to nothing on the inside. Time will tell. So far I am impressed.

FWIW, a 4wheel drive (3wd actually) boosted lauches/burnouts are a blast.

Honestly, I can't either. It still has not slipped even once to date I do know that the 2003-2007 transmissions will NOT hold 900+torque at the wheels even periodically. Supposedly these are the same transmissions internally, but I'm having a hard time believing that at this point...considering I'm approaching 10,000 tuned miles and the fluid is still blood red

will this new tuner leave any evidence on the computer that it was ever there?

Maybe not, but removing the DPF will certainly signal modification and void your warranty just as fast.

I'm not speaking for him but I think he meant he could put the DPF back in before taking it in for warranty work...

Wouldn't there be evidence that it had been removed though. I will admit I have not looked at this close. But It would probably be pretty easy to detect the DPF removal. Or maybe dealers wouldn't care if they had a plausible way to overlook it. After all they are probably not looking to void warrantys because they get paid by FORD.

Some dealers wont mind and some will. I am a tech for a different make and can tell you that warranty pay versus customer pay sucks. The dealer i work at is pretty mod friendly as long as the customer doesnt make a habit of breaking stuff all the time.

This might be because I'm young and ignorant, or it could just be the pure jelose i have towards someone being able to just throw a tuner on a truck and make almost 500hp and like 900ftlbs and that is refricken diculous.( to bad ford couldnt find a way to get that kind of power right form the factory, don't get me wrong though if i was in you guys shoes with a 6.4 i would be tempted) just my 2cents
i wouldn't call it a 'new' motor.. just because it was offered for sale this year.. ford has been testing this motor for quite a while now.. for years in fact..
they've logged over a MILLION miles on these motors before finally making it to production for sale... i seriously doubt anything such as a "huge defect" would show itself now after all the testing they've done.

very true, even though ford didn't join the "common rail" group until now, they have continued to stay alongside dodge and chevy in the HP/TQ figures for production vehicles...

now modified is a different story, and yes it's a tad easier to get more power out of the CR, but ford was always right in the middle of the battle..

and i must say, the 6.4 is quite an impressive setup.. when i drove to NC to have matt build my motor he had just picked up his 08 the day before i got there... it still had the dealer plate on the back and was BONE STOCK..
and it was hanging w/my truck when it was stock w/a SCT turned up pretty high... i was impressed with how fast it was in stock trim !!

this is as far as i've gotten so far in this thread, so if the question is answered further then i apologize, but i believe what they are wanting to know is :

by just deleting the DPF, and running a tune that has does NOT ADD POWER, but simply turns off the dpf function, how much of a difference would that make ??

the thing is, since you NEED to get a tuner when deleting the DPF, you might as well add a few ponies while you are at it

After turning it back to stock, the truck went right into regen, so it does fill the DPf fast.

Stock 6.4 with CAT and DPF (runs 1 thru 5)

Average 281 HP 496 TQ

6.4 with 150 HP spartan tune's with CAT and DPF (runs 6 thru 9)

Average 360 HP 634 TQ

6.4 with same spartan tune with CAT and without DPF (runs 10 thru 12)

Average 412 HP 731 TQ

hey shane did you ever get it to where you could run your afe intake w/out the CEL ??

yes but remember diesels are design to make power at low rpm .. and you also have a compound setup to make power down low.. we sacrifice the low end for a bit more topend w/single turbo..

but even though we can rev past 4200.. you've seen mine at 4500 on the dyno before... but remember the peak power figures were all at around 3k.. so basically it's not really worth it for me to rev it so high since it does nothing to increase my peak power

Interested in this as well....I picked up an AFE Pro7 intake so that when I get the tunes and DPF delete form Spartan I can take full advantage...well I am getting a CEL with just the intake....anyway to make that go away?

So I called Matt today and asked if you can change wheel diameter size and he said no.

So how does a guy change his speed to match his tire size?? Usually the tuner will do it for you..
