GM/Duramax is a nice CAR, but does not even come close to the definition of TRUCK as defined by the Super Duty. Proof? Ford has complete dominance in the construction industry, where trucks are used for WORK. Duramax is a good engine that's surrounded by a car, Cummins is a good engine that's surrounded by complete junk, Super Duty is a real truck.
Fred, Mizer, no problem, you want some reality, well the reality is this. Slumburger, Haliburton, Key Energy Services, Thereal Story Drilling, Caterpillar, Patterson Drilling, C.C. Forbes, El Paso Corporation, Gulf South Pipeline, CenterPoint Energy, and about 10 others that I cannot think of all use Ford trucks. Most are diesels, better than 60% are now 6.0L. Nobody up here uses Chevys, cause they will not hold up to the oilfiled road abuse. Dodges are more common in Hot Shot services. However there are more Fords then GM's in that sector as well.
I have talked with a couple of hot shot drivers that have came by my college. They all have said that the only reason they went with the dodge is because the megacab is roomy enough to sleep in, so it saves them alot on hotels. 2 of them said they would be driving a ford if they had a cab to match the megacab. The other guy said he would take a 7.3l if it had a matching size cab, but not the 6.0, he said he's heard of to many issues.

Have you ever noticed that they drive a chevy as a daily driver but drive a ford as a work truck...
back on the topic... if he can make this truck pull 500hp, that means ford could snap their fingers and hit 350rwhp safely at the flip on a switch... maybe they need dual DPFs for more flow

as much i like to be proud of my ford truck, i'm not really a huge fan of ford products in general.. i agree w/a lot of what you said, but you must give credit where it is due..
i bought my super duty because of the reasons you stated: it's a TRUCK.. no doubt about it. aggressive looks, solid axle, solid driveline (t/case and tranny are as good as they come)..
even though chevy really fell short in the IFS department, everything else about it is most definitely ALL TRUCK.. my buddy has a dmax crew cab, and the truck rides much smoother (upside of IFS i guess), it has a much nicer cabin inside, and the DMAX is arguably one of the best oil burning motors to ever be put in a light truck...
as for dodge i agree 100%..it's an amazing motor surrounded by absolute crap in every direction...
for me the perfect truck would be my beloved superduty w/ a dmax under the hood, backed by my torqshift.. i have the 04, so actually i could just upgrade to an 06 interior and i'd be much happier..
but you can believe that with the new body style chevy that came out this year, if they put a solid axle under the front of it and got rid of that piece of dogcrap allison tranny i would be the first in line (pre DPF motor of course)

Thats what a customer of mine does. He has a small fleet of F-350-F-550 trucks for his business and drives a Chevy for his personal vehicle.
Asked him why he doesn't get Chebbies for the business. He said "Because the Fords last and arn't in the shop all the time". Hes got 7.3s, 6.0ls and a 6.4l.
What's not to like about allison? They are like the common rail design, they are the way of the future. Everything will be computer controlled, because like it or not, computers do more things much faster and better than anything mechanical and time will prove that. We simply do not have the need calibrations to program the Allison the way it needs to be done. I know a guy that can do it, but won't do it, because he worked for GM (conflict of interest). He has a 500rwhp LBZ that has an aftermarket torque converter in it, and that's it. The rest is programming to make the tranny shift correctly with timing and pressure.

the allison is good at doing what it was designed to do. but it was not designed to be a drag racing tranny or to motivate a silverado truck w/600HP or more..
and no one is saying electronic tranny's are no good, i believe the torqshift is one of the best slushpumps out there, and it's an electronically controlled transmission also..
the main beef with the allison is that when you start seriously upping the ante in the power dept, and try to launch the truck or make a full power run the thing "freaks" out and can't decide what gear to be in or stay in, and kills precious time doing un-necessary shifting, and will also start slipping sooner than you would expect it to..
i'll take the TorqShift any day over the allison, brand name alone does not make it a reliable performance transmission in a hopped up tuck.
When real programming comes through EFI Live for the Ally I think you will be pleasantly surprised. What they have given now is practically nothing compared to the rest of the programming that remains. I understand name vs no name. Revert back to sentence one. The ATS copilot helps but it isn't as good as it could be.
No offense here but I dont think anyone came here to talk about pieces of chevy! (except the duracraper)......... I got way better things to do, like pick the skin off my forearm!!
Did you notice that Matt has stopped coming here? maybe hes just busy but I know he is responding elsewhere!

Big reason why that guy won't get my business, hearing about people waiting for months and months to get a tune is poor business, people pay him up front then are forced to wait2-3 months for even a responce and then possible more wait time after that, that just sucks.
you missed what I was trying to say......... I believe he is not responding to THIS thread because of all the non related crap talk! I was trying to make the point that he IS responding elsewhere and I have talked to him(and I live in Canada) it seems that he is not responding only to this thread!
anyways he is still waiting for the new hardware for the software (that all tunes are done except the 245 are done). which he is hoping for the first part of april.

Lol he has so much business right now I dont think he is realy going to care. He is getting so many orders in we will probably see him on the richest people in the world list here before long.

Rollerstud, people waiting on 6.0 tunes has nothing to do with this thread. If you have a problem with me or the tune wait times you need to take that up with me personally; I do believe I have plenty of contact information posted. You are also quoting a few very limited instances of which also had extenuating circumstances. There are 24 hours in a day- until you have been in my shoes I don't see as to where you have time to judge.
As a side note, if you have noticed, I have recently quit advertising the unlimited tuning package. Trust me, I didn't do that to boost business. I did it because I have very little choice- once again, 24 hours in a day. Until I hire another calibrator purchasing a new unlimited tune package is out of the question. Continuing to offer and sell a service I can't support is the biggest disservice I can do to my customers. As it stands, I have 574 unlimited tuning customers to support. The only reason the wait time is so long right now is because I was over capacity before I even realized it. If each person only asks for 1 tune per month, that is almost 20 tunes per day. Given the rest of the schedule I struggle very hard to meet that requirement.
As far as me not having posted back at this thread, I just haven't had any more relevant information to post past what I put on our website. I originally posted some info over at the Diesel Garage, where I then decided to post it on the website. It hasn't been out of negligence to this thread or the users here. Trust me, as soon as I have more news I will post it here.
