Nice and warm, supposed to be 49 today, but unfortunately a little colder tomorrow. I plan on doing a little work on the 54 F250 tomorrow and take it out for a spin. It has been mostly sitting for the last year or two and deserves to see a little road time. $20 worth of gas and I can drive it 50 miles or so. LOL it has a 460!
Hey Pat you got that 67 F 100. Is it in good shape. Just curious.
Well, right now it's sitting out at my inlaws farm. I think it has a broken input shaft on the tranny. The body is in okay shape, need front fenders (normal for these) and the bed sides need some work. The bed floor is in pretty good shape. It has the 300 six with the four speed. I need to do something with it, either get it running, or get rid of it. The wife wants me to get rid of it. She says I don't need three pickups, but that's just crazy talk! As soon as the snow melts, I'll get a picture of it in my gallery.
I have some older pictures around somewhere, but I'll try to shoot a few with the digital this weekend and post them. I changed out the engine and tranny 6 or 7 years ago and swapped in a 460/C6 and pulled the original 4.86 rear end and put in a 3.73 from an early 70's F250. It will now cruise 60 to 70 without too much trouble if I want to drive that fast. It originally had a 239 OHV V8 and 4 speed tranny, but both the engine and tranny were about shot. Hence it's name "Old Smokey" When I first got it the daughters one was in high school and the other was a freshman at K-State. They rattle canned it purple and painted a power cat on the side and took it tail gateing. It was ok as long as it didn't idle at a stop light too long. If it did, it looked like someone was fogging mosquitos. That was before the engine swap.
Hey, for all you guys checking in here, be sure you vote for our new chapter logo at the top of the thread listing. I won't be around this weekend (computer unplugged at home), but I'll check in monday after the carpet is in, and I hook the computer back up. Have a good weekend guys.
I would have beaten them out of their mind if I would have caught them doing that to your pickup. I dont care if somebody is driving a chevy and this was happening to them also. It is sad that somebody gets joy out of doing this to peoples vehicles. I had a buddy catch a person key my 58 f100 from front to back. They told me, he didnt do that again. I get fired up when they do stuff like that. Its almost like they are jealous of you and try to ruin our nice stuff that they dont have. Sorry, I kinda went off for a bit. . . . . .
Hey if any off you guys want to add anything here go ahead. Even if you have never posted in the Nebraska forum at ll an are from Nebraska go ahead. I just love to talk to new people so chime in any time an add your 2 cents. We BNebraskan have to stand up for what is right an let your self be heard. I will be gone for a bit an when I come back an see this post still here I will be very mad. This is the BS thread for everybody so come on guys what are you waiting for. Get to posting.

Got some new Parts last week! Master Cylinder, Tranny Mount and Engine Mounts which will be going in my 56 F100. Should have installed in the Next couple of weeks. Hope to have the Chassis and drive line done and engine and tranny in by July. I will get some pics up in my Gallery soon. Had to quit working on the 56 while I got my 69 done but now its back on the board after a couple of years.
Ok GHeorge was the 56 the spqure bodied style or are we still in the rounded look from earlier years. I always get those 50s truck confused. Make sure you post pics when your done.
Hey George. Love that 69! I'll have to look for it the next time I'm out that way. We've got family over between Shelton and Gibbon. I sold my 70 hiboy to a cousin out there a couple years ago, it's usually pulling a stock trailer around now.
Yeah that 69 always looks good out on the road, I just cant believe that you drive it in this kinda weather. But I guess why build it if you cant enjoy it, good to see it out and about.
There are pictures of the 56 the day I pulled it out of the weeds in my Gallery. I would say the 56 is the last year of the rounded body style. As far as driving the 69, I get the shakes if I don't cruise it daily. It is a work truck and actually gets used like one. I built it to haul all my other projects around while they are in the build mode. There has always been a wimbledon white Ford Truck in my life like this one since 1968 (I was 5 when my dad and I brought his new F350 home from Omaha). Some people have problems with drugs, alcahol or gambling - Mine is Automobiles!
I saw that pic of the 56, thats exactally what I want for my next project. I also have the same problem as you, I would probably call it an auto-addiction, WAY better than any other addiction like drugs, gambling, and alcohol.
