The Ford Motor Company part number for that ID TAG!!

It has absolutely nothing to do with any engine casting number.
Against my better judgement...here's the info on that valve cover sticker and other info again.

I posted the correct casting number several times. D1VE-6015-AB

You need to go back and read the posts in this thread again.

From the head casting numbers, the engine is from 1973, possibly later.

What size is the engine? The SAME bare block & heads were used on 429 & 460's.

The correct harmonic balancer is: D4VZ-6316-A

The correct C6 flywheel is: D1SZ-6375-A

I'd list the pulleys, but there's dozens..I need more info on what accessories you will be using (power steering, A/C, etc).

The D3VE heads are smogged up dogmeat, replace them with D0VE heads.

You need to understand what we are staying when it comes to those numbers you keep posting.

D3VE is an ENGINEERING number

Those number just mean it was designed for the 1973 Lincoln car but could be used in trucks.

You need to post the ACTUAL Casting DATE which I referred you to so as to Determine which year those parts were MADE.

Just because they say D3VE doesn't mean it wasn't made in 1976 or 77.

Now....with change up codes of A2A and A2B.. I have to assume it was made in about 1976 because of those suffixes.

Please answer the questions we ask by looking at the parts and posting the results.

all 429/460 blocks are cast the same except a slight design change foir minor things.

You need to worry about upper or lower bracketry for any 429/460

Maybe even from a E-series van.

I tried to add additional data, but ran into the dreaded database glitch again, so I went over to the Winchester Collector forum instead...where I used to spend most of my time before I found FTE.

If the cylinder heads are marked D3VE, they are obviously NOT D0VE heads.

C8VE,C9VE,D0VE heads are all practically the same..... nothing special for a 429/460.

We can only help so much .....It seems you're not understanding what is being posted
over and over again

Maybe I'll go find a article for you to read.

gh there were several variations to the engines of the 385-series family, only two displacements were available---the 429 cubic inch and the 460 cubic inch. Both were introduced in 1968 and lasted until 1973. These engines were heavier and larger than Ford's predecessor---the FE Family.
429 (Thunderjet)
two-bolt main bearing cap

Bore and Stroke 4.36x3.59

cast-iron crankshaft

forged-steel connecting rods with 3/8 inch rod bolts

cast-aluminum pistons

hydraulic lifter camshaft

2.08 inch/1.66 inch intake/exhaust valves

non-adjustable rocker arms

cast-iron intake manifold

4 barrel or 2 barrel carburator

Was available in Ford and Mercury automobiles
429 Cobra Jet
Four-bolt main engine block (with exception to some early 1970 models).

Larger cylinder heads---2.25 inches/1.72 inches intake/exhaust.

Rocker arms were stamped steel 1.73:1 ratio with sled type fulcrums, threaded screw-in rocker studs and pushrod guide plates.

The rocker arms on the 429 cubic inch Cobra Jet were also adjustable prior to 1969.

Cobra Jet used a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor atop a spread-bore cast-iron manifold.

429 Super Cobra Jet
4 bolt main engine blocks

Forged aluminum pistions

Mechanical lifter camshaft

Adjustable rocker arms

780cfm Holley four-barrel carb

429 Boss
All aluminum cast cylinder heads

Cresent type combustion chambers

Intake/Exhaust valves of 2.28in and 1.90inch

Exhaust valves are "D" shaped

4 oil galleries

Identified by casting 429HP on block

Higher iron nodularity content with thicker cylinder walls

2 Versions of the 429 Boss existed, they were 820-S & 820-T

Forged steel cross-drilled crankshaft

Forged aluminum pistons

Aluminum dual plane manifold w/735cfm Holley four barrel carb

I would always want boss 460 but way to much cost. It is BIG head!

Wonder the heads I saw is DOVE-C but alot of work like need to sand rid off all rust! Do you think I able to use 1973 460 engine ITs DIVE-A2B IF so I just able to re-grind the crankshaft, rods, bore the block and get KB piston Hypertic (I can't spelling correct) GEt JR Victra intake mainfold. Big carbs maybe 750-800cmf what kind? GEt good cam Roller or tapp? Also get head work 3 angles. DO you think it is good enough to give more power what my goal is? Is C-6 or Aode best to use for street/strip also Id love to do race~ Don't forget I might want to use nitrous setup 150 shot. Wet kit or dry for nitrous? What gear I should put on 9inch axle on 69 Ford F100. That what I am trying to do this project with my first build. I been so frustated and confused with this info. But I would appericate for yall patience with me. Cause I am trying to learn and do right things
