Is it possible to use a lcd tv as a computer monitor and tv? Just wondering what's the difference between a 32" lcd tv and a normal lcd monitor are. Thanks
Yes, it's possible mine has a connection on the back where you can use a patch cable to plug into the back of your computer. I've never tried it though.
My 42" Sharp Aquos LCD has computer hookups. I used component hookups and got 1080i and it was drool worthy, actually I did. The computer couldn't handle it though.
The 32" TV may be lower resolution than the computer monitor. You'll get the best picture if you match the computer screen resolution exactly to the monitor resolution, and if you use a digital connection like DVI or HDMI rather than an analog one like VGA, or worse, SVideo or composite.
I've got one computer hooked up using the DVI out from the video hard with an adapter cable to the HDMI input on a Sony HDTV. I have the computer resolution set to match 720p, and HD video playback looks great.
Is there any brand you guys would stay away from or recomend? I'm not looking for top of the line, I'd like to keep the cost down. Thanks again, Slifer
I've got a Sony Bravia (not a 32" though) and I love it, had a problem with the remote when I first bought it but I got it taken care of and no problems since. My sister has a Panasonic Viera and it's great not quite like my Sony but it's an earlier model, I've also heard great things about the Sharp Aquos TV's but I don't have any experience with them.
