woth comperable increases, a powerstroke will eat a cummins . period. seen it too many times (well, can u ever see a powerstroke eat the competition too many times lol). btw i beat a big time smokin cummins 6 sp. 24v last night. i was runnin 80 in a 45. i slowed down, dummy dodge had to try to rectify the situation and fly on. lol. all we did was kick though. like 5 times =) couldnt find any red lights, and theres 27 in a row here, couldnt find 1 red one. lol.

6 speed there's his problem lol
and mod for mod a powerstroke will NOT eat a cummins... they don't even need bigger sticks till like 700hp?? i know the dirtymax's don't need new sticks till over 750hp...
i love my powerstroke and wouldn't sell it for the world but let's be realistic... the powerstroke is nowhere near the competition in performance... UNLESS you're talking about comparing say... a 6.0 or a 6.4 with JUST a tuner against a cummins or duramax with just a tuner... THEN we will probably win
i'm talkin average run of the mill trucks. working trucks, like mine. with just tuners. ya its easier to get the big hp out of the competition, in my opinion just cause of the fuels system type we have. but, these hold together longer, and with just tuners, intakes, and such i know that in comperable year models these strokes beat the competition, and last longer and look better doing it. i know it takes more money to get the big gains out of these trucks. but, with that stuff they are no longer practical. when you cant use it for its true purpose, youve defeated the purpose
All the PSD's at the truck pulls here in michigan OWN the chebbys and dodges.
The cummings is a great engine.
The only reason dodge runs the cummings is because they can't make a diesel. hahaha.
Just like chevy never could either.
But then again ford doesn't make theirs either.
International motors are known for longevity and power.
Who cares how much you can spend to get how much horsepower.
So what, a cummings is a cheep power producer, and so is a duramax.
I'll still take my better PSD.
At least a PSD wont fry itself if it drops oil or gets and oil leak, or oil gets to low......
Oh wait. Chebbys and doges will!!!!
I remember how they were saying how great the duramax was. "we drained the oil on these 3 diesels, and the PSD quit after 10 mins." The chevy ran for like an hour or more and the cummings i duno.
But still. Those engines are trash. Just add some oil to the PSD, and I would even drop it in my truck without questions.
actually talyn... the duramax are cheap to get to 600hp... after that everything starts breaking and it costs A LOT of money to get the power to the wheels... and let's not even get into the 1000hp range... look at nastygirl.. i never once heard of that truck running on the dyno without something breaking
i cant race him for a bit. his truck has only pump turn up. nothin else performance wise. i cant race now cause its in the shop. second or 3rd blown head gasket.
i dont see a need for the zf 6's to get a different shifter. i can speed shift them just as fast as an auto. low to first is violent though. i have had just as good a luck with the obs 5 speeds too but they are a little notchy on the 2-3 shift, no worries they still grab just fine.
how come we dont have all these head gasket problem that everyone else has......????? i gues its because these 7.3's are just boat anchors right......

exactly why, our "useless low-power 7.3s" can "only" handle like 40-50psi before head studs??
