My auto is pretty fast and never misses and never losses boost!!! HaHa!!
you would be surprised at how fast it comes back though. i gave an auto owner a ride in my truck a while ago that had a highly modified psd and he was very suprised how a stick does in the boost dept.
i would say do it for fun but i'd be careful... a 12v with under $500 in engine mods in it can make over 500hp at the wheels.... all he would need is a good clutch and he'd own you (if he knows what he's doing)

with an owner who knows what they're doing that's what i heard is a decent number for that much money... but the tranny and clutch can't hold anywhere near that
The reason that this surprises me the most is my brother has a cummins in a 99 dodge 3/4 with a manual, and a tuner, and I eat him ALIVE..... as in its not even close...

My brother bought a edge tuner for his for about 400 bucks, and I know you can get twins for it for about 2800, but 500 bucks to hit 500 ponies seams outrageous to me. I dont know that much about garbage trucks though.........(I.E. Dodge)

you're not talking about the 12v's the 12v's are COMPLETELY mechanical... no electronics whatsoever (except to start it)

haha the 12v's still rule the high hp, dragracing, and sledpulling worlds which is amazing considering how old they are...
You just throw a bigger fuel plate on a 12 valve and some bigger sticks (ridiculous how cheap they are) and I could see 500 HP easy they just did a 12V dually in Diesel power but they put in like 1200 or so dollars not counting extra coolers and gauges and got an extra 100 HP. I thought of the dark side for a while but a cummins is so easy a caveman could do it. (strokin_it7.3).I don't think I could stand to drive something that ugly, I couldn't go without my blue oval.

trust me.. a good mechanic can get 500hp out of a 12v with $500...
We should be talking bout how to make our powerstrokes out run them instead of how cheap they can build a cummins. Thats why powerstrokes are bad *** when they have that much power cause there arent as many as there are cummins bc they are cheap!!!

we can't compete with the cummins and duramax yet, give it another i'd say 6-8 months until a powerstroke breaks 1000hp at the wheels..
