pickin a race

well, i normally try to pick my races so i dont get imbarrassed (hasent happened yet) but a boy at school got a cummins, ext. cab lwb, 5sp. he wont say whats done to it, but with 2 5" stacks it covers the parking lot. i'm thinkin of pickin a race. it black smokes alot at idle when cold, so idk. it fills them stacks and dont blow out, it pours out coal black. but i've waxed a$$ on some bad smokin cummins b4

Being 18 and playing with diesels from my hometown 12vs were the most fun, cheapest and easiest. I have turned the pump up, delivery vavles, grined the plate down on a binch grinder, played with the waste gate, and some other lil things and they can turn up more than you think!!!!!! My brother has one with a 5 speed and it will move pretty good. On 37's and 3.55 gears he can get me but on littler tires its close. But I can only spool around 20 something lbs of boost and he spools out 30 something within seconds and mine is gradual. It would be close all depends tho........

Boost makes your tubro diesel. =)

I've never seen a 12 valve race, so I cannot offer any info.

All depends on gearing and what gear he starts in.
I'd start in 2nd if i was him. =)
Hopefully you have no boost building problems.

Don't those 5 and 6 speeds in those cummins have shorter throws? Seems like the do compared to our zf. Anyhow, I wish I could shift mine faster.
