where to find a decent condition 4ADL tranny?
I just obtained a clean '88 Ranger XLT, 2.9, 4x4 xcab that is needing a tranny. I don't have the time, money or wherewithall to swap in a manual or do everything it takes to put in a more reliable tranny.
It would be greatly appreciated if you folks would have a gander while you are out pickin' parts.
I was thinking of Dan when I posted this, since he is the parts Yoda of norcal.
Maybe Tim (Oldfords) has some idea, but since he retired who knows.
I'm still looking, but being stuck in retirement seminar this week has cramped my style a bit.
My real dilemma is that all the good parts yards are an hour + from me, so a quick trip takes all day. Course if it's snowing on the mountain and nice in the valley, that's not a bad thing.
Will the Pick n Pull guys raise a wreck so you can get under it? I saw something in Chico but it was sitting on the ground. I was after other stuff then so I didn't ask.
