A ram air hood would be more functional then a cowl hood for a custom cold air intake.

but that would suck water too, the cowl would remove hot air, not ram cold, and the ram air hoods arent even that efficient, that is a proven fact

True, BUT if your thinkin you could make a cowl hood pull air better then a ram air hood your highly mistakin.

nope, the point was to remove the hot air as i said before and the 4 inch cowl hood are quite effective, self defrosting on my mustang

that may have been your point but the originator was talking about creating a cold air intake from a cowl hood, hence why I said "A ram air hood would be more functional then a cowl hood for a custom cold air intake."

Ask the napa folks to give you the fleet account price. At my NAPA, they have an account that they buy all filters for the local farmers on and get the fleet price, the 6637 filter is 35 bucks.

I asked for the fleet price about 6 months ago and I got one for $25. I'm due for a new one. I hope I can get it for that price again. Good luck.

1: someone once told me that if you are not running a CAC then whatever little mods you do under the hood to cool the air don't really affect much. don't know if it's true or not. the more i think about it, it seems the opposite to me. if you are going to cool the air post turbo then who cares how hot it is going in. seems that w/o the cooler you would want it cooler going in even if it's only small adjustments.

2: i remember someone back in the spring/summer giving out a link where you could get the filter for around 35 bucks.
